Venue Setting
The open air part of the restaurant nestles against ancient rock formations and overlooks the Jackals Creek seasonal river and the natural fields. It is not quite a cave and in a world of its own. A wide ledge with a rugged overhang is Bosduifklip.
We use the rocks as decor and the furniture is made of sawn off logs that we use as tables and chairs. At night, when the stars light up, the open air part gets transformed into a fairy wonderworld under the stars.
The roofed part is built over the original stone kraal from 1941 and part of the walls are the remains of a blacksmith shop from the late 1800s. The roofed part has a beautiful high ceiling thatched roof and two huge fireplaces; it is used during the winter months as well as daytime functions. Both the open air and the roofed part have dancefloors.
Bosduifklip Open Air restaurant has an informal and relaxed atmosphere. We are well known for our lavish and scrumptious, homemade traditional South African buffet where the food is prepared over the open fire in the original way.
