The Surfrider Malibu was originally built in 1953 during California's Golden Era. Reopened as a design-forward beach hotel in 2017 it is the embodiment of The California Dream. Inside Scoop

Book the entire hotel, much like your own California Beach House complete with a full team exclusively dedicated to you and your guests. Your VIP guests will check in to their own rooms at 3pm to find welcome gifts on the end of their beds before meeting the rest of your guests on the roof deck for sunset cocktails, dancing long into the night. Wake the next morning and share breakfast together (the breakfast burrito and avocado toast don't get much better) before venturing to the beach for some early morning group yoga and surfing, or, laze all day on the roof deck sipping cocktails with your best friends before the main event that night. Rise and shine the next morning for a Malibu Mary brunch (the hotel's take on the bloody mary) sharing stories about the weekend that was.  

Some tid bits... The Pacific Room has the best view of First Point, the wave that The Endless Summer movie was created about. Order guacamole and a pacifico to your room and laze in the hammock watching the surfers. Surfrider Suite has the largest bathroom and a California King bed. Best views are from the upstairs rooms. The hotel also has a family of 7 wild deer which live on the mountain behind and visit every morning and night. Francisco, the lead bartender, used to own a Mezcal Bar in Mexico and makes the best margarita's on the West Coast. Derek, on the front desk, is a Malibu lifeguard in his spare time and has all the surf tips! And best of all is the sage green 1968 Land Rover perfect for Surf Safaris up the coast.

The scene is relaxed and coastal with a sophisticated, creative edge. Guests are chilled out. They enjoy good organic food, long languid days in the sun, cocktail in hand between surfs and dancing under the stars long into the night. Preferred music choice... French Jazz straight out of the 60's.
Design:
Architecturally designed to feel like your own California beach house, the hotel has lofted airy ceilings with tongue and groove walls, raw stones, real teak wood and is decorated in earthy tones and textures.
Standout venue features:
Guests have exclusive access to, what is perhaps the best roof deck on the coast of California, overlooking Surfrider Beach, Malibu Pier and The Pacific Ocean and also acts as the hotel's bar and al fresco restaurant. In addition, there is a full quiver of complimentary custom shaped surfboards in a palette of vintage colors and a 1968 Land Rover to take you to the best waves of the day. Upstairs rooms have direct ocean views and balconies with hammocks.

The Surfrider roof deck is home to The Surfrider hotels bar and restaurant which boasts all-organic, all-local Californian fare and high end wine list celebrating mostly Californian vineyards. Both the bar and restaurant are exclusive to guests of the hotel and their guests (limited to 3 guests per hotel guest).
Following an afternoon surf, catch sunset by the fire pit with Surfrider signature cocktail the Apres Surf, along with the grazing board designed specifically for sunset hour.

The Roof Deck
The Roof Deck is home to Surfrider Hotel's Bar and Restaurant. For exclusive access to The Surfrider's roof deck, all hotel rooms need to be booked, much like, your own personal beach house complete with a full staff. Please note, full hotel buyouts are fully booked through Summer 2018. Next available buyout date, October 2018.
