Venue Setting

Our charming property offers breathtaking backdrops for those desiring a romantic and timeless wedding. Built in 1840, the sprawling, white mansion has been well-known to longtime Holly Springs residents for decades. Conveniently located 25 minutes outside of Raleigh and situated on more than an acre of land, the Leslie-Alford-Mims House uniquely combines rich history with modern grace and style.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The house and grounds are equipped to host both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions as well as private events and corporate meetings. Imagine getting married under a canopy of Magnolia trees among a southern landscape. Or having your wedding cake displayed beneath a shimmering chandelier.

Envision your guests perusing the various rooms while a pianist plays the Baby Grand. Picture hosting your reception in the Event Lawn either under a tent, beneath market lights or in the open-air.

An oversized porte cochere that once accommodated horse and carriages can now be used as your dance floor. The possibilities are endless and the neutral setting makes the Mims House ideal for any style and any budget.

What makes the Mims House different? It’s more than a venue. We vow to devote a high level of attention to you, your day and your details throughout the entire process. Not only will you secure the perfect place to get married, but you’ll also work with a talented team of vendors who are trustworthy, passionate and dedicated.

15 Whimsical Wedding Venues in North Carolina
Good ole James Taylor had it all right when he wrote, “In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina. Can't you see the sunshine? Can't you just feel the moonshine?” North Carolina, with its incredible mountain ranges and gorgeous landscapes, is so full of good, fresh mountain air you can practically feel yourself recharging in the countryside out here. And whether on a beach or in the mountains, we all know there’s nowhere better to get married than while basking in the glory of the sunshine and the moonshine.   From countryside farmhouses way up in the mountains of Asheville to boutique hotels on the outer banks of the NC salty coast, this great state has a wedding venue that’s perfect for just about any couple planning a gorgeous southern wedding. If you’re into contemporary art, there’s a great hotel museum in Durham. If you’re more about that slow secret garden in a historic town vibe, there’s an atrium in Wilmington that could be right up your alley. Take the jump into this tree-filled southern state with us and let us know what venues you’re ready to feel the moonshine in.   Reporter: Alyssa Brown | Pictured Left: The Ridge
