We invite you to experience the charm and elegance of the Merrimon-Wynne House, downtown Raleigh’s newest premier wedding and event venue. The Merrimon-Wynne House, which sits on the birth site of Jane Mckimmon, was built in 1876 and has been restored to its original grandeur. In addition to the picturesque building, The Merrimon-Wynne wedding and event venue has expansive grounds, and is located in the heart of historic downtown Raleigh only a few doors away from the Governor’s Mansion. The Merrimon-Wynne House and grounds can accommodate over 200 guests and offers neutral finishings, making it an ideal location for hosting everything from traditional and classic affairs to modern and contemporary events.
Design:
The Merrimon-Wynne house is boasting with ornate original and new jaw dropping details. As you walk through each room of the home you will notice dazzling chandeliers, original mantles and tiling, detailed moldings, thick doorways, front and side porch ornamentals, original flooring and even original swirly glass window panes. The bridals suite includes a grogeous clawfoot tub and tons of natural light flooding in. Our Carraige House, while it is new construction, gives you a sleek modern feel while keeping with the character and the times of the original home. The neautral space has 25 foot tal ceilings with white washed trusses, elegant chandeliers and floor to ceiling windows that let the natural light engulf the space. The gray stained concrete floors give it the perfect contrast.
Standout venue features:
The Merrimon-Wynne House is accessible to the bride and her vendors for the entire day, allowing for the perfect setting for the bridal party to get all dolled up for the big day! Mimosas, coffee and refreshments are provided upon arrival in the morning. The groom and his groomsman are also able to use the space to get ready and in the grooms room, outfitted with a bucket of assorted beer, a flat screen TV, comfy leather couches and a bumper pool table.Your guests will be pleasantly surprised when they realize how close the venue is to the heart of downtown Raleigh's restaurants, hotel accommodations and bars.

The rental of the venue includes the use of 200 chairs, 5 white wooden bar fronts, 25 guest seating tables and 20 hightop cocktail tables.

With luscious landscaping outlining the grounds, this outdoor setting become the perfect ceremony backdrop. The Lawn is also a great option for couples that would like to host their dinner under the stars. The Merrimon-Wynne Lawn can accommodate up to 300 guests and can be tented or have market lights strung overhead to create a romantic, intimate feel.
