The Report

Casa Dos Chicos is situated on top of a beautiful hill overlooking the Pacific Coast of Sayulita with 360 degree views of the coast, mountains and valleys. The House is made of 2 structures connected at the top by a dramatic bridge that connects open air Living room, Dining room, Kitchen and a plunge pool under palapa roofs. The house was recently fully restored by an Italian architect and Interior Designer using a mix of minimal and clean lines infused with Mexican color and joyful, fun touches that keep it rustic and authentic. The house has a garden pool immersed in vegetation of the lush tropical garden, and a small plunge pool in the living room space.

Casa dos Chicos is located in a private area, yet still right in the bustling town of Sayulita, Mexico which has a great vibe and mix of people, restaurants, and boutiques. Sayulita is an hour north of Puerto Vallarta, and has truly captured the culinary culture of Mexico.  Lonely Planet World Food Guide to Mexico has said "To understand Mexico, you must eat here." In addition to slathering on sunscreen and surfing in Sayulita, you can go whale watching, on jungle tours, shopping, fishing trips, and horse back riding.

The Scoop

This colorful and vibrant venue is ideal for small intimate events of up to 35 guests, rehearsal dinners, welcome parties or as a perfect place to stay if your guest count is too large and you need to host the actual event elsewhere. Venue Spaces. The rooftop living room and dining space can be comfortably configured for an event. The garden area right next to the pool would be perfect for a smaller event of up to 10 people or so (occupants of the house). The rooftop is also a lovely venue setting for an event and has incredible views.

Casa Dos Chicos also provides onsite accommodations for your guests. Up to 10 guests can stay the night before and after the party with a maximum of 10 nights and a minimum of 4 nights. There are 4 large private suites and 2 have extra twin beds. Catering is provided by vendors that are trusted by Casa Dos Chicos, and they will provide you with a list that has different options for a variety of budgets and styles.

This house is absolutely terrific for entertaining and the lighting at night is beautiful, intimate and truly magical.

Bonus

Casa Dos Chicos was designed by, interior designer and owner of  Studio F Design  Patrizio Fradiani and his architect partner! This means that your private home and venue comes with impeccable interior design that stays true to the Sayulita surroundings. Patrizio and his life partner started buying properties (almost as a joke) 7 years ago and loved it so much that they continued to purchase more all over the world.

Casa Dos Chicos  was purchased 3 years ago, and it was a mess…but with great potential. It was gutted, expanded and the 2 separate structures were united by a bridge to make it one home. Patrizio & his partner incorporated a plethora of local materials and styles. The polished concrete which is typical of the area, railings made of concrete to resemble bamboo, sea pebble floors and walls (the locals would literally go to the beach and sort them by color and size and come back to Patrizio with each stone to ensure perfection). The furniture is a mix of old finds that were refurbished or painted bright colors. Everything in the bedrooms is serene, connected to the outdoors and very open to take in the breezes and the smells of the tropical garden. They wanted to achieve a house that felt like a shelter but totally connected and almost “swallowed” by the environment around it.  Could there be a better BONUS for your venue setting than this?!

The streets of Sayulita are overflowing with a bountiful selection of shopping. The combination of colorful bohemian handicrafts, hippie chic vibe, and local art makes it an ideal spot to shop for your event decor.  Folk art has a long tradition in Sayulita Mexico, shop the streets to find touches to incorporate into your event design.

1. Embrace the locale by using hand painted maracas at each place setting, you can use them as placecards for the dining tables and fun instruments for dancing later on . 2.  Shop at Tierra Sayulita where they sell Churro Wool rugs, hand dyed and woven by indigenous Zapotec Indians from the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico. All rugs are one of a kind and can be custom made for your event color & design. You can or set them in lounge areas or use them as the focal point for your ceremony. They will be the decor for your event and an heirloom piece for your home.  3. Go to Revolucion del Sueno to purchase the most colorful and vibrant textiles to layer your dining tables with.

Inside Scoop

Patrizio told us that the sunsets from the roof top living room are incredible and their cook Maga makes an amazing dinner and breakfast with the most delicious fresh Guacamole! Another tidbit? Casa dos Chicos can arrange to have horses pick guests up right in front of the house for a tour of the town, beach or mountains. This would be such a fun treat for out-of-town guests attending an event at this venue. For those who really want to remain private and relax you can do yoga classes on the rooftop and then hire a chef to cook the fresh catch of the day at the house each night!
