Shade Hotel

1221 North Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach, California

For a weekend of beach bummin’, heading out to Manhattan Beach is a no-brainer. What's not to love about the sound of the waves, cute shops, and epic sunsets? For this multicultural wedding planned by Sugar Branch Events, guests were able to enjoy a weekend by the Pacific while all staying in one hotel that was totally easy for out-of-towners to get to. The best thing about having all your friends and fam in one place for the weekend is that you get to really maximize your time together. We can practically hear the clinking of glasses just thinking about it.

A wedding that brings together two cultures and two religions is not always the easiest thing to plan, but this couple makes it look easy as an ocean breeze. The Persian groom married his American bride incorporating a Persian sand ceremony, as directed by a Methodist minister. Try saying that ten times fast. Meanwhile, the neutral, modern background at Shade Hotel is softened by minty drapery, a green living wall, and lots of fresh florals. A stroll down the boardwalk is par for the course post-ceremony, and makes for some gorgeous beachy photos. The planners over at Sugar Branch Events gave us the full story behind the scenes of this wedding with Josh Elliott behind the lens.

Elopement
This Couple Didn’t Know Where They Were Getting Married Until Their Wedding Day And It Was Totally Worth The Wait

Elopements always have an unspoken appeal of the unknown, but this one more than ever. This couple actually had no idea where their ceremony would take place until their photographers arrived on the scene, gave them the scoop on a place they could hike to in their wedding attire, and guided them through snow, sea, horse pastures, and cliffs. To call it an Icelandic adventure seems an understatement, but what an incredible way to start a new life together.

We can’t say enough about the talented duo behind the lenses of this gorgeous wedding in rural Snæfellsnes. Cole and Jakob of Nordica Photography do really incredible storytelling in their photography and we couldn’t be more excited to share the story of this wedding from their perspective. It’s just so cool that their clients trust them enough to choose their wedding location at the last possible moment. Here’s the skinny in their words.

Takk House

55 3rd Street, Troy, New York

Newlyweds Heidi and Frank are both owners and wedding savants of the Takk House. This grand victorian building is retrofitted for any occasion—seriously, the couple is known for making the wildest of requests into reality, and loving every minute of it. When it came time to plan their own wedding, they knew they had to go all out, and that they did.

The aged, vintage feel of the building in combination with repurposed items like an old television turned welcome sign, check in, and concierge desk, made Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" inspired interior to truly come alive. Details of elegant gilded mirrors, historic chandeliers and indoor greenery transport guests back to the 1930s where sipping cocktails, fine dining and jazzing it up on the dance floor was the norm. Heidi and Frank’s innate authenticity and desire to recreate a European hotel escape allowed for their dream wedding to become reality.

Wedgewood Weddings Galway Downs

38801 Los Corralitos Rd, Temecula, CA, United States

As the leaves begin to transform into shades of amber and crimson and the air begins to cool, we can’t help but feel nostalgic for sweet summertime. We recently caught up with Leah Marie Photography about capturing all 242 acres of Galway Downs, an equestrian rich land in Temecula, completely transporting us back to those much needed sensations of summer.

This private estate, surrounded by lush rolling hills and major-league level wineries, comes together to create the perfect balance between traditional and contemporary. We’re not done just yet. Boasting high-beam ceilings, a lily pond, vintage succulent filled troughs, modern craftsmanship and seamless indoor-outdoor arrangements, this place truly holds up to be a jewel under the sun.

Sacred Sands

Sacred Sands Bed and Breakfast, 63155 Quail Springs Road, Joshua Tree, CA, United States

Maybe it’s the isolation amidst the grandiosity of the mountains, or maybe it’s all those bizarre-o looking Joshua Trees, but there’s something about the desert that is – let’s all say it in unison here – pure magic. While Palm Springs is popular for its cool boutique hotels and trendy restaurants, the quiet stillness of nearby Joshua Tree is one epic setting for a destination wedding that’ll have you and your guests feeling like you’re the only people left on the planet.

Whoever’s idea it was to lug a bunch of telescopes, a badass DJ, a slew of vegan tacos, and a whole party crew out to the desert in Joshua Tree, we salute you. Oh, wait. It was the brilliant minds at Moxie Bright Events, of course. Lucky for us, photographer Andria Lo was willing to give us a little insider info on this incredible desert wedding affair. Magic is certainly one word you could use to describe this one.
