This month at The Venue Report it's all about “FALL-ing” in love and preparing to gather for the holidays with friends and family. We are kicking off the start of the season with a richly textured, rainbow FALL in Love Feast by the sea with our Venue Report fam and their other halves.

This time of year we usually find ourselves thinking the same warm, amber filled thoughts. Give us all of the pumpkins, cider, and apple picking moments we could possibly have! But this year is different. Why? How? It's called FASHION WEEK, my friends. This year was divergent. Colorful and vibrant, with bloggers and plus size models walking in some of the recent shows, this September was about all things new and we we’re into it. Taking a nod from the laces, velvets and jewel tones of the Gucci runway show, we’re feeling the rainbow vibes for the cooler weather right about now.

This week’s #BirthdayBucketList is New York City’s favorite oyster bar. Where to score the best oysters in the Big Apple is debatable, but as far as ambiance goes, it’s downright impossible to beat Grand Banks Oyster Bar—and that’s because it’s hosted on a revitalized mid-century wooden ship known as the Sherman Zwicker.

Watching a sunset sink its fiery skin into the ocean from the New York City waterfront should be—and likely is—on everyone's bucket list. In the warmer seasons, is there a better way to appreciate the good life than toasting your friends or family with a rich blend of grand colors before you and the greatest city skyline ever behind you? No, probably not. Plus, there’s a cocktail menu and oysters!

Pool Float Product Launch
Serious About Fun
Urban Rooftop Pool Party
REPORTER: Katie David Bush

When one of the coolest, serious-about-fun, girl-led, bad-a** brands in LA approaches you to help them find the most perfect poolside to host their summer product launch soiree, well, if you're us, you roll up yo sleeves and set to one heckuva hot venue search for a "rosé all day".kinda spot.  We'd been fans of the indomintable Jen Gotch and the Ban.do #girlgang for some time, so when the opportunity came about to work together, we knew that hotline bling could only mean one thing.... FUN, and lots of it (ok, ok and lots of neon and pool floats). We knew we needed to find the ultimate location that would show off not only the new Outdoor FUN line of products we'd been dreaming of, posting about and well coveting in a maaaaaajor way for all of our poolside par-TAYs, but the inherent spirit of design and forward-thinking so prevalent in the Ban.do brand. When you NEED a floral day planner, neon bendy straws, rainbow unicorn pool float and an "I Heart Pina Coladas" ring, you know you're onto something special.

If all the world is a stage, then certainly the venue is the massively important opening act. A hop, skip and a quick cannonball from the heart of Tinseltown in Koreatown we fell in perfect step with the The Line Hotel,  where an unmistakable sense of "cool" and "fun" emanates from it's mid-century bones and it's pedigree reflects the heartbeat of the vibrant city it stands prominently and proudly in the middle of. Perfect.

Picnics, s’mores and the great outdoors! Can we ask for anything more from an amazingly summer getaway?! We think not. A luxury tent camping venue, Vail Collective Retreat is one of the best spots for just such an experience and we’re feeling all the summer nostalgia after flipping through these pictures.

Colorado might be one of the best destinations for people who love to adventure, hike, bike, horseback ride, camp, or simply enjoy all of Mother Nature’s bounty. If the idea of getting back to the land has inspired a trek to the mountains, Vail Collective Retreat could be totally up your alley. While most people think of Vail as a winter destination for skiing and snowboarding, there’s no shortage of awesome things to do in the spring, fall and summertime too. This permanent glamping spot closes up shop for the season this year around October 14th and reopens again around May 11th. So, there’s still a little bit of time left to have that last vacation hoorah of 2016, or start planning next summer’s family getaway.

Modern Mexican Fiesta

REPORTER: Alyssa Brown

Stylist, blogger, and true event planner, Janet Young, or better yet, The Modern Dame, knows how to throw one heck of a good gathering. Her recent social celebration is chock full of all of the inspiration you need to host your own end of summer fiesta.  Dim the lights please. Think pretty pink florals paired with a taco and tequila tasting! This crew of out-of-this-world creatives, whipped together one spectacular modern Mexican soiree hosted at a seriously stunning downtown Los Angeles venue, Hudson Loft.  A spacious, contemporary space with large vintage window panelings surrounded by red brick, was the ideal stage for Young to work her magic.

The event planning dream team coupled with photographer Steve Steinhardt, had a chance to fulfill their fantasy of planning and hosting a brightly colored festive party. They filled the room with simple, copper stained chairs, warm wood furnishings, accents of succulents, and floral arrangements by MTF Studio, allowing for the colorful art-like food creations to be the center of attention. Oh, and the best part, they are sharing one of their best kept party tricks with you, a DIY, at home tequila recipe with some tasting tips and tricks included.
