As if we couldn’t be more obsessed with the retail brand West Elm, they’ve gone and blown us away by announcing they’re launching a hotel line. While we’re totally psyched to see what the rooms will look like, we’re even more stoked about their concept and approach to gathering. The West Elm Hotel brand is making efforts to establish meeting places for locals and tourists alike in each of their new hotel locations, with an emphasis on supporting each city’s local art scene and bringing together creatives from both near and far.

With five locations set to open in 2018, the West Elm Hotel brand has chosen to kick off in cities with serious design and history street cred. For the industrialist, the Midtown Detroit location will offer 135+ rooms on Cass Avenue. For the historic registry buff, the North Loop Minneapolis location will feature 120+ rooms in a former warehouse set in the Warehouse Historic District filled with old milling and shipping facilities. For the Southern preservationist, the Savannah location in the Bull Street Corridor is set to open up 100+ rooms, gorgeous gardens, a pool, a retail shop, and a restaurant on Drayton Street. For the artisan, the Charlotte location in the South End will be a hub for creatives that offers up a rooftop pool, 150+ rooms, and a lounge bar that’s all about Sunday gatherings. And lastly, for the culture buff, the Indianapolis location will be housed in an old Coca-Cola bottling plant with a rooftop bar, 120+ rooms, and easy access to the museums and galleries the North Mass Ave Corridor is known for.

This wedding was more than just a dinner party, it was a whole weekend of revelry, wine-ing and dining with friends and family from near and far. The awesome celebration took place at French’s Point in Maine’s Penobscot Bay, an old historic estate with incredible views of the coast and plenty of sleeping spots for a big crowd of loved ones.

With lots of manicured gardens and coastline vantage points, there’s no shortage of indoor and outdoor venue options on the grounds at this gorgeous Maine wedding venue. It's just the right size to do a buyout and sleep all of your wedding guests on property in cozy, private digs. Plus, it comes with a sailcloth tent on-site, which is a major win.

The Los Angeles of yore was a strange, ritzy affair, welcoming the rough tumblers alongside the class acts. West coasters knew the value of paradise out among the palm trees and a city always under construction, and if you had picked any brain of a mid-century Angeleno, he or she would’ve told you anything was possible in the future if you could protect what’s yours in the present.

These days, philosophy doesn’t always make its way into the luxury game. Too often, respect and relaxation aren’t backed enough by earnestness and empathy. One stunning L.A. gem, however, is as chic as it is classic, because no joint in town knows how to recreate the City of Angels’ old-school charm like Mr. C Beverly Hills.

Nothing good ever comes easy. It's a simple fact hard work pays off and without it, you miss that glorious sense of accomplishment oft copied but never really duplicated.  It takes a special person indeed to see potential in what others overlook.  The sparkling turquoise beauty you see below wasn't always as shiny and polished as it is now, at least not when Tiffany Caliva-Talledo a graphic and motion designer living in Ventura County, CA purchased it. She runs a small motion design company called FarmHand Studios and was looking for a diamond in the rough to renovate.

Her story of this beautiful, little beach house's discovery and subsequent transformation is an inspiration not only to us design & gathering gurus, but maybe it's a lovely lesson for all of us to dig a little deeper, look a little closer and take a second glance at something (or even someone?) we would normally pass right by.  As for it's current state, we'd say this beach house is picture-perfect for a bohemian beach bachelorette party, gorgeous girls getaway or sweet weekend escape. It's almost booked through 2016 so get to gathering!

We've had our little gathering-locale-loving eyes a-spy on the beautiful Butcher's Daughter for a few years now, coveting the impossibly chic and sunny decor in it's East Coast eateries and heartily devouring the fresh, healthy fare. So when a little birdie told us The Butcher's Daughter was coming to the West Coast (and Venice Beach, no less) we knew we had to get the inside scoop (and squeal with delight).

Lucky for us, said little birdie happened to come in the form of fabulous Venue Report friend, Correspondent, magnificent interior designer, stylist & owner of the freaking cutest Tiny Canal Cottage (talk about high style in a small space!),  Whitney Leigh Morris. If you're not following her on Instagram @whitneyleighmorris you're just silly. She and The Butcher's Daughter owner Heather Tierney, happen to be long-time collaborators, friends and new Venice neighbors. The two had planned a fun field trip up the coast to Ojai - so Whitney kindly offered to play Venue Reporter and interview Heather during the ride. Let's just say, having these two fabulous creatives in one car must have made for a seriously rad road trip!

If you are looking to get inspired by women, these two will surely fill you up.
