If your friends blindfolded you and plopped you into a seat of this quaint café, you would assume you landed somewhere in Paris when you opened your eyes. But au contraire, mon amie, you’re actually brunching in the middle of Atlanta, where the lovely little Bread and Butterfly café resides.

Opened in 2016, this café-bistro in Inman Park is #bucketlist worthy for its transformative ambience that exemplifies the best of Parisian culture. This is brunch French-style, meaning the menu is simple and the flavors are rich. (Here, it’s Petite Déjeuner, meaning “little lunch.”) You won’t find the typical Southern fare of biscuits and gravy with five pounds of bacon, which is part of what makes Bread and Butterfly stand out.

Into the woods
REPORTER: Jake Kilroy

Nestled in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, a treehouse offers up the beautiful swirl of southern comfort and universal imagination. Now, to tourists, that likely makes sense, to pop up such a down-home stay out in the wild woods of Georgia. But to locals, that may stir some eyebrows. Because even though guests are surrounded—practically swallowed whole—by exuberant woodland, what makes it more urban escape than rural playhouse is that Buckhead is best known for being a major commercial and financial district of high-rise offices, hotels, and condos. But as this secluded getaway proves, that doesn’t mean you can’t tuck in a tranquil treehouse out in the rolling hills.

Rooted in the concept of cultivating a community within the Atlanta event sphere, crazy talented florist, Amy Osaba, opened up a killer event studio in her historic westside warehouse space.  For anyone looking to throw an event flooded with natural light, high ceilings, huge windows and exposed brick, this space is a dream come true.  There’s an authentic artsy feel to the venue that will have most creatives begging to utilize the space for more than just a party or two.

While the venue is also ideal for workshops, community classes, dinner parties, and cocktail parties, photographer Christina McNeill is showing off a rainy day wedding in the space that leaves onlookers with anything but the blues.

The Report

This venue is VRV (Venue Report Verified), we have personally visited this venue.

Welcome to midtown Atlanta, where seafood is king and nautical décor is queen. The princes and princesses are the sea faring travelers, and the court jester’s that one guy who’s always trying to buy everybody drinks at the bar. We love that guy. This restaurant celebrates the nautical lifestyleto perfection, while still providing you with the full Atlanta experience. At Lure (a fabulous name to top it off), you’ll get to experience not only some of Atlanta’s finest seafood cuisines, but do so in the pleasure of a beautifully driftwood-laden environment that bridges the gap of luxury and a thematic dining milieu. Just wait until you plunge your tridents into the coastal delights.

As the creative folks behind Lure say, "it's time to get hooked"
