This Chevron Inspired Spot Is Changing Your Spa Experience
Alyssa Brown
by Alyssa Brown

An old French style of installing floorboards, a parquet pattern covers every surface of this modernist spa and pool design in South Sweden. While the zigzagged chevron pattern varies between white tile and pale timber, the effect is a clean and crisp couple of pools that are utterly dive-worthy located on a property that dates back to the 18th century.

It’s no surprise that this gorgeous installation is trending on design inspiration boards worldwide.

ICEHOTEL Jukkasjärvi

ICEHOTEL, Marknadsvägen, Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

ICEHOTEL number 26 opened it's frozen doors two weeks ago! ICEHOTEL is the world’s first hotel made of ice and snow and is reborn each year in the village of Jukkasjärvi, just north of the Arctic Circle. The spectacular frozen monolith is made entirely of ice from the free-flowing river Torne, and is open from mid-December to mid-April every year. This #BirthdayBucketList of the week is devoted to this spectacularly sparkling experience.

Each year the rooms are completely different as new artisans come to the area to carve art sculptures out of the ice. The artists vary from year to year, so that each rendition of the hotel is unique every season that it reopens. Not only is this #BirthdayBucketList devoted to sleeping in this temporary hotel, but it also serves as the setting where you can host the COOLEST (pun intended) birthday dinner party on the planet.

History Lesson: This Couple Built a Hotel up in the Trees
Jake Kilroy
by Jake Kilroy

Imagine what the world would look like if you set architects loose in the wild to create without restraint. What colors would there be? What shapes? How would they use space?

A pine forest in the tiny village of Harads gives you the answer. Once you’re among the tall trees that grace the gorgeous Lule River Valley, childlike wonder will sneak its way into your heart, as you witness something you’ve never seen outside of a computer screen, stunned that places like this actually exist.

Welcome to Treehotel.
