In 1927, seven sycamore trees were planted in Ivanhoe, California, and the rest is history. The story doesn’t end there—in fact, it only gets better. That’s because, decades later, the orchard and farmland would become one of Central Valley’ premiere wedding venues. We're of course talking about Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch.

See, long before there were pergolas, brick paths, and ivy-laden trellises, there sat a warm and inviting homestead. Settled in the shadows of sequoias and surrounded by orange trees, the homestead remains gorgeously surrounded by its 120-acre ranch. History has remained a key component of the property, with its World War II observation tower and the barn's vintage windows being taken from a local school. New life has been no stranger either. Everything from olives to camellia flowers have popped up over the years. What may be most magical, though, is that current ranch owner Bob McKellar was raised on the property. His parents planted those iconic sycamore trees.

REPORTER: The Venue Report

Here at The Venue Report, the office culture tends to be different then most corporate enviroments. We have pink doors, disco balls in every corner, plants everywhere and leading the charge are founders, Cortnie and Donny Fausner. A married couple that started The Venue Report in their home. Throughout their journey of building this company from the ground up, the question, "How does your working relationship effect your personal relationship?", always seemed to get asked. Their response? "It doesn't. Plain and simple. We stay in our lanes and if we by any chance want to cross over we put our blinkers on. We love what we do and talk about work all the time. It's our other baby (Lola is what we like to call her offline) and doing what you love with the person you love is one of the greatest gifts."

That response inspired our February series, Better Together. There are so many rad working relationships out there and we are so excited to share a few with you! This week's Better Together feature commences with long distance besties and Girl Bosses, Renata Stone (also goes by Nata) of Big Bear Photo Co. + Knottery and Rachel Lunghi of Siren Floral Co. + The Romantik Studio. Together they are the ultimate dynamic duo after hours and during. Having colaborated on multiple weddings, photo shoots and even vacation iteniarys, these two share how they better together.

For those who haven’t scoped out Solange’s latest album drop, A Seat At The Table is arguably her best work to date. While the combination of cool spoken word and seriously badass beats makes the album shine, the music video for Cranes in The Sky is equally as rad. The video production squad landed hot and heavy in the little Hill Country town of Kyle, Texas during a deluge of August rain and captured Solange dancing in a modern steel structure with the tropical southern backdrop in all its lush glory. This rad architectural spot is none other than one of our favorite Texas venues, The Plant at Kyle.

Venue owner Mark Holzbach recently caught up with us about hosting the film production at his property and filled us in on a bit of behind-the-scenes action. He also has a few recommendations for anyone making the trek to Kyle.

You've seen them host local artistsTegan & Sarah, and everyone's fave girl crush indie rocker, Lana Del ReySpace 15 Twenty, Urban Outfitters’ first concept store, has become one of the hottest event spots in LA, that gives shoppers, fans and locals a place to gather along with VIP access to some super rad events both in their courtyard and store. Yep, you heard us. They even have a string light filled courtyard that is perfect for interactive events on a sunny L.A. day (which is almost 365 days a year). Space 15 Twenty is the go-to cool kids hub for pop-up shops, art shows, events and performances. Their goal is to provide a curated space for their community complete with Unami Burger to top off your one-stop-shop experience.

We recently were invited to spend the evening with the Space 15 Twenty gang and... No big deal... Just Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer! The critically acclaimed comedians (and our spirit animals) were celebrating the release of Broad City's Original Series Soundtrack with a For The Record Meet & Greet + Vinyl Signing and we got to be apart of the action. The soundtrack itself offers an eclectic compilation of both urban, indie, and dance tunes from artists such as Jarina De Marco, Tony Quattro, Zebra Katz, RJD2 and more. With a line stretching to the main entry the event began. DJ MATT FX got some dancing feet going, drinks were served and the space filled up with fans - us included. YAS queen, let the party begin!
