Elopement
This Couple Didn’t Know Where They Were Getting Married Until Their Wedding Day And It Was Totally Worth The Wait
Alyssa Brown
by Alyssa Brown

Elopements always have an unspoken appeal of the unknown, but this one more than ever. This couple actually had no idea where their ceremony would take place until their photographers arrived on the scene, gave them the scoop on a place they could hike to in their wedding attire, and guided them through snow, sea, horse pastures, and cliffs. To call it an Icelandic adventure seems an understatement, but what an incredible way to start a new life together.

We can’t say enough about the talented duo behind the lenses of this gorgeous wedding in rural Snæfellsnes. Cole and Jakob of Nordica Photography do really incredible storytelling in their photography and we couldn’t be more excited to share the story of this wedding from their perspective. It’s just so cool that their clients trust them enough to choose their wedding location at the last possible moment. Here’s the skinny in their words.

Barrels and Branches

1452 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, California, United States

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever."  - Alfred Lord Tennyson

Mother's Day is fast-approaching and while it's one thing to search for that perfect gift for your lovely mamacita, maybe it's a bouquet of freshly picked flowers, or cooking up her favorite meal to show your endless appreciation for let's face it, the hardest job in the world - it's another thing entirely to BE a mama and feel that the best gift you can give yourself and your littles is finding the time to get together with like-minded lovelies who lift you up.

We were honored to help the magnificent Isobel Bensch from Bel & Beau in collaboration with the ever-inspirational ladies from Beijos Events find the perfect venue, Barrels & Branches, to host the most beautiful mamas/littles luncheon in honor of Mother's Day! Bel & Beau is a lifestyle brand dedicated to living elegantly. Isobel started her blog originally as a love letter to her son, Holden, and it has since blossomed into a go-to guide for mamas and non-mamas alike for fashion, beauty & adventures in motherhood.  The theme of this beautiful luncheon, captured wonderfully by Kayla Adams is what we all hope our littles will say to us one day "Mom, you're a peach."

Nilaya Hermitage: Wanderlusters Wed in Gorgeous Indian Hideaway Above the Arabian Sea
Katie David Bush
by Katie David Bush

While minimalism may be a strong trend in both design and weddings in 2016, less isn't always more. India's rich cultural heritage dictates the more color, the more art, the more dancing and the more singing equals the best kind of magical "marry"-making! But, more isn't simply more in the case of Beirut-born couple Narina & Tarak's beautiful I-do's.

With the help of wedding planners Cherry On Top Events, they chose layers of marvelous more in the form of rich marigolds and magentas, colorful string lights, long feasting tables with mis-matched turquoises and pops of prints with dare we say it? A minimalistically "more" touch. The results? A very modern Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band at a gorgeous gem of a spectacularly gritty & secret Indian seaside gathering spot, NIlaya Hermitage, in Goa. We had a chance to sit down with wedding photographers, Sean & Melanie Flanigan of A Fistful of Bolts who were on-hand to cpature the explosions of joy that you'll soon see, simply radiate from their beautiful images.

Chelsea Physic Garden

66 Royal Hospital Rd, London, United Kingdom

“E.M. Forster” … that’s all the bride had to say to the visionaries at event design team, Knot & Pop to let them know exactly the kind of wedding day they should conjure up for this couple. Hannah and Derrick’s love story began in India, and the bride is keen on the Edwardian era, so the event designers created a day they described as: “channeling a sense of Edwardiana, meets wanderlust lovers, meets Colonial style … and a whole lot of elephants.”  The couple wanted to bring the peace of greenery and the outdoors to their wedding to create a fun and relaxing atmosphere for their guests. Chelsea Physic Garden was the perfect venue with it it's secluded and magical vibes.

Chelsea Physic Garden is a hidden gem in the heart of London that feels very much like you’ve stepped into the pages of the beloved children’s novel, The Secret Garden. With gorgeous sprawling lawns and an eclectic mix of plant life became an ideal backdrop for Hannah and Derrick’s celebration. Bold coral florals accented with gold accessories and ivory lace helped create a romantic, whimsical tone. Knot & Pop expertly wove elements of the theme throughout the space.
