We love and know Sonix as the uber cute, kitschy iphone case and accessory website... But what happens when they round up their squad of like-minded friends? Pop-up magic - that's what! Amongst the Sonix's product on Melrose is brands Ivy Kirzhner, Gorjana Jewelry, Emm Kuo, Bite Beauty and Stone Fox Swim. If the curated brand line-up isn't enough, the design team behind this pop-up made the entire space an instagrammable moment complete with a cherry blossom tree and swing dead-center in the middle of the shop and trending blush tones covering every wall. Sold? We thought so.

This pop-up is only lasting one more weekend so don't miss out. Shop the latest Spring ’17 collection at their exclusive FIRST EVER pop-up shop at 8017 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles 90046. Delivering up the details and dates behind this grand idea is Creative Director, Jillian Wheeler + PR Manager, Mallory Molinski.

Lady Killas Event

REPORTER: The Venue Report

It has been said that 2017 is the year of the woman. In light of the recent social climate, the feminist movement has risen up with new life. It has visually increased and gained momentum by the hundreds of thousands this year. Many (both male and female) have joined in peaceful protests, women focused events and campaigns all over the world bringing people together and providing a platform for this relevant topic. With social media at an all time high, most women can relate to the pressures of competition. If one thing is for sure, this movement has inspired more kindness and respect between women, allowing us to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

One of the women leading the charge in inspiring women to empower women is Courtney Wall of Lady Killas, San Diego's monthly meet-up for women in the creative field motivated to lead, network and make an impact. February's event was hosted at Pigment featuring Space 15 Twentie's Event & Content Manager, Sheewa Salehi  and our Art Director, Sarah Laos. This event touched on the power of relationships in the creativity industry and friendships with a foundation of encouragement and motivation. Being The Venue Report, we're always in search for the inside scoop, so we recently chatted with the Lady Killa herself about her new endeavor and her life in the creative industry.

Cyndi Ramirez of Chillhouse
New York City
REPORTER: The Venue Report

This week's #RealWomenReport is all about one of our favorite girl bosses that just opened New York City's newest wellness hot spot. Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton and her team of innovative wellness seekers saw a need in the bustling streets of NYC when it comes to on-the-go TLC for busy people. Cyndi sought to bring, "a downtown escape for city dwellers seeking a modern path to total relaxation with style, character, and ease." Well, this beautiful (and totally convenient) spot does just that. Chillhouse brings the trifecta of a day well spent to the Lower East Side with a cafe, nail and body focused menu with a light and airy, yet modern vibe designed by EAU.

No stranger to the hustle of entrepreneurship, Cyndi is also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Taste The Stylea lifestyle blog and brand for the modern working woman. With a forward thinking mindset, Cyndi has a keen eye for discovering unfulfilled markets (on more than one occasion) and expertly offered a solution with her savvy girlboss style. We caught up with her about her newest endeavor on brining well deserved R&R to The Big Apple.

With millions of women around the world feeling inspired to action via the Women’s March on Washington, we’ve been scoping out various women’s networks that connect individuals across various backgrounds and ethnicities. Reaching 18 million women per week, across 196 countries, this media platform is a force we’re excited to learn more about.

Founder Tiffany Pham (who’s only 30 by the way, *and* taught herself to code via late night sessions at her kitchen table) recently sat down to give us the whole story behind Mogul and what it means to be a female entrepreneur in the world of start-up tech. Her best advice for building community? “Be kind. Be authentic. Be generous.” We couldn’t agree more. Skip below for more tips and thoughts from Tiffany on what it is to be a true leader.

Two Girl Bosses Take On Chicago
Festive Collective
REPORTER: Alyssa Brown

Today’s Real Women Report is all about Festive Collective. A Chicago hub for all things party-supply, including balloons, stationery, tableware, and décor, this pretty boutique shop takes the cake for women working together in retail. Three businesses under one roof, Festive Collective is a sweet retail spot worth hitting up if you’re in the area, and the space doubles as an event venue and workshop hub too.

Festive Collective’s founder Angela Water recently sat down with us to chat about how she started this business with her #girlboss squad. Realizing they’d be stronger together, Angela’s business Bash Party Goods teamed up with Anne and Kate Stationery, and Luft Balloons to create this one-stop party shop. Here’s the story from Angela.
