Why The Brazilian Court Remains One of Palm Beach's Most Coveted Wedding Venues

Palm Beach operates according to its own social calendar, one measured less in hours than in celebrations. Bougainvillea spills over garden walls, tennis matches give way to high-tea, and entire conversations seem to happen beneath the shade of striped umbrellas. It was this particular strain of glamour that drew Vanessa and Sean to The Brazilian Court, a property whose century-old facades, tropical courtyards, and enduring sense of occasion felt perfectly aligned with their vision. Their celebration took its cues from the setting itself: a garden ceremony surrounded by lush greenery and purple orchids, a dinner at Palm Beach’s beloved Café Boulud, and an evening animated by exceptional hospitality and Old Floridian charm. And every corner seemed to offer another beautiful vantage point.

A Venue Worth Keeping

The search, as it happens, lasted only a few moments. Walking through The Brazilian Court with her mother, the bride took one look around and delivered the sort of sentence wedding planners rarely hear so early in the process: "Okay, decision made." There was plenty to take in. The hotel, celebrating its centennial this year, sits tucked behind hedges just off Palm Beach's social thoroughfares, its butter yellow facades enclosing a series of interlocking patios and garden pathways that feel worlds away from the bustle beyond the gates.

At the center of it all is Café Boulud, Daniel Boulud's acclaimed restaurant, where pecky cypress ceilings, velvet banquettes, and a shaded terrace have made it one of the island's most coveted reservations for more than two decades. For many couples, that proximity is part of the draw. Few venues can claim one of Palm Beach's most sought-after reservations as their in-house reception venue! It is the sort of arrangement wedding planners dream about—a celebrated restaurant, eighty overnight guest accommodations, and ceremony spaces all woven into the same property.

The day moved from getting ready at the hotel to dinner beneath the palms and a dance floor full of family and friends with the dreamlike logic of a perfect vacation, where one beautiful scene gives way to the next and nobody is in a hurry for it to end. On the day, the ceremony was officiated by the bride's best friend and took place in the property's lush courtyard beside the fountain, a setting she later described as feeling straight out of a fairytale.

French Lessons in Florida

Then came dinner. White plates carrying ribbons of butternut squash appeared first, finished with bottarga breadcrumbs. Dover sole followed, accompanied by spinach, mushroom pommes purée, and a lemon beurre blanc. A beautifully prepared prime filet arrived next, enriched with maître d' butter. Throughout the evening, Executive Chef Christopher Zabita's menu moved comfortably between French technique and coastal Florida sensibilities. Dessert closed the evening with key lime meringue and coconut sorbet, bright, cool, and unmistakably of the place. The applause belonged to the newlyweds, but more than a few guests left talking about dinner. By night's end, the wedding felt inseparable from Palm Beach itself. The celebration felt like a beautifully scripted chapter in the historic venue's own love story.

A Room for Every Chapter

  • Fountain Courtyard | The ceremony location Vanessa and Sean selected, and perhaps the most recognizable setting on the property. Centered around the hotel's iconic fountain and shaded by a canopy of palms, the courtyard accommodates ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and outdoor celebrations with all the romance Palm Beach is known for and 1,260 square feet.
  • Café Boulud Terrace | Wrapped in greenery and overlooking the courtyard, the terrace offers an al fresco setting for rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, cocktail hours, or intimate receptions. It seats up to 50 guests on its own and can be combined with adjacent event spaces for larger celebrations.
  • The Conservatory | Filled with natural light from arched garden-facing windows, the Conservatory connects directly to the terrace and courtyard. A sculptural bronze chandelier anchors the room overhead, making it an elegant option for receptions, dinners, and indoor celebrations that still feel connected to the landscape outside.
  • The Ballroom | The largest indoor event space on the property features an iridescent leaded-glass skylight, dark millwork, and a neutral palette that can be tailored to a wide range of design styles. For larger weddings, the Ballroom can be opened to the Conservatory to accommodate up to 140 seated guests.
  • Restaurant Buyouts | For couples planning a larger affair, Café Boulud and its adjoining spaces can be reserved in their entirety, allowing celebrations of up to 330 guests while maintaining the restaurant's signature atmosphere and service.

Fade to Palm Beach
It wasn’t about any single detail, but how they all collided. Tables were a textured mix of olive branches, with artichokes and kiwi tucked casually into the centerpieces, while palm-patterned linens gave a sharp nod to the landscape just outside. It was all so remarkably cohesive—the work of a couple who knew exactly what they wanted, and a property that executed that vision without overcomplicating it. That is the real draw of Palm Beach, anyway. Beneath the storied reputation is this rare capability to distort time, making guests feel as though they’ve slipped into an era where beauty, hospitality, and a good time are treated as worthy pursuits. Vanessa and Sean found that exact frequency at The Brazilian Court, pulling off a fairytale that felt entirely their own, surrounded by everyone they loved.
