A collection of eighteen bamboo huts set along the terraced slopes of the Ayung River in the rainforests of Bali, Green Village showcases interesting architecture, eco-friendly principles and an artisanal quality of craftsmanship.

Each bamboo villa has its own personality and aesthetic, some with multiple bedrooms and others with multiple stories. With the looks of the ultra-modern Sunrise House, we could easily picture an epic birthday weekend bash at these digs.

Sunrise House
With three bedroom suites inside and a plunge pool and gardens outside Sunrise House, this bamboo villa would make a gorgeous getaway for a small group of tight knit friends. The decks make fabulous floor space for yoga and Pilates sessions, while the full kitchen means you can all enjoy cooking and hanging together in the lounge spaces. With bamboo ceilings, floors and walls, this spot lets in the perfect amount of dappled rainforest light and looks right out to the stunning tropical panorama. Just imagine the kinds of birds that would wake you up on your birthday morning at this spot.

Eco Learning Center
Wanna know what makes these bamboo houses so rad? They’re part of a grouping of architecture projects by the Bamboo Factory and Green School. With a huge emphasis on bamboo structures and eco-friendly practices, the Green School teaches visitors about alternative energy sources through various tours and workshops. For just $150/day, visitors can sign up for a 3-day course in bamboo house building. Learning how to hand-build a house in just a few days is certainly bucket list worthy!

Balinese Paradise
Located in the hills just outside Ubud, Green Village sits on the river surrounded by rice fields and rainforests. With tons of wildlife and nearby empyrean temples, there’s no shortage of must-see spots around these parts. But for those who prefer to vacation off-the-grid and without an agenda, this small village has enough charm to keep you and your Bali birthday bash travel pals perfectly comfortable.
