Ibi Yoo of The Awesome Candle returns to Poketo in this fun and interactive candle-making workshop. Known for her small-batch creations featured in Hypebeast and Green Wedding Shoes, we invite you to experiment with a collection of scents and discover unique combinations of oils to create your own custom fragrance.

Ibi will then guide you in creating an 8oz travel candle with floral-accent and two hand-rolled beeswax candles. Attendees will also be able to incorporate a variety of dried flowers in their custom candle. You may choose to recreate the scent of your favorite candle or compose an entirely new fragrance that is your own. Limited to 14 attendees so you'll get to learn in an intimate setting with a lot of personal attention.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
The Awesome Candle is an LA-based small-batch premium candle & home fragrance company founded by Ibi Yoo in 2013. Yoo is a self-taught candle and home fragrance maker with a focus on artistic collaborations. Each product is individually numbered and is made in limited quantities to share the uniqueness of the handcrafted quality. Ibi has been featured in Hypebeast and Green Wedding Shoes.

All materials are included in the workshop and light snacks and refreshments will be served. You may also bring your own 8oz containers to fill (we recommend ceramic or glass with an opening 3”-4” in diameter).

You’ll also receive a 15% off discount at the Poketo shop in the lobby as well as all future workshops.

*Please arrive 15 minutes early and check in at the Poketo store inside The Line Hotel. Valet parking is available at the hotel at a reduced rate of $10 for workshop attendees. Otherwise, there is offsite street parking available nearby.

About the Host

The Line Hotel

There's an unmistakable sense of "cool" at The Line Hotel, a mid-century building located in L.A.'s Koreatown.

A collaborative effort headed by the Sydell Group, the décor is industrial hip, with raw cement walls, floor-to-ceiling views of the Hollywood Hills and a diverse collection of multimedia works by contributing artists adorning the rooms. Their bars and restaurants stay true to the backgrounds of the bartenders and chefs: POT serves up Koreatown and Korean food —their “Boot Knocker” is a memorable mix of instant ramen, pork, and canned meats.
