Learn how to make a Momofuku Milk Bar Cake
We’re stripping it down to the bare essentials - we could not be more delighted to have Martine Dallemand, alumn of the hallowed pastry halls of Milk Bar, as our guide through how to decorate what has become perhaps the city’s most popular cake. In this class, we’ll be baking, designing, and styling 6” naked cakes with minimal frosting on the outside, exposing the cake layers and filling. This rustic and chic cake has been all the rage for the past few years, popping up everywhere on the wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, and party scenes. Milk Bar owner Christina Tosi is credited with starting the trend back in 2008 when she began highlighting the cake layers, instead of just the frosting. The cakes will be decorated with fresh flowers, berries and/or herbs.
