Churchill

Taradale, Victoria, Australia

Talk about serious pedigree, this 150-year-old-church re-opened it's doors in 2015. It is no longer preaching the good word, but as an event space, it’s dramatic, intimate and wonderful for weddings. Rounding out the radiance is grand timber ceilings, detailed stain glass windows and a whitewashed wooden hall. This is one renovation that will make you say “holy moly” and mean it.

Le Pigalle Paris

Paris, France

Billed as sort of the “anti-opulent” hotel (but no less beautifully curated than some of it’s larger counterparts), while still reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Montmarte neighborhood, its recent renovation revels in the “thugs, artists, adventurers and musicians” it attracts. Le Pigalle reflects the gritty, yet gorgeous and interesting Parisian subset that appealed to generations upon generations of artists who lived and breathed in this neighborhood for years. Head to the Ground floor for your fete – “It has a café, bar and restaurant, a vinyl record library, and a newspaper and book kiosk, all run by the colourful characters who make Pigalle what it is. There are parties, DJ sets and table dancing, providing guests with a foretaste of what they can expect as they explore the uncharted jungle that is Paris.”

The Gainsborough Spa Bath

Bath, England, UK

A luxury hotel built entirely around it’s town’s original thermal springs? Hello, sign us up for a soak. We’re big-time believers in any sort of bathing ritual having devoted an entire post to the best places to bathe all over the world. This ranks right up there with our favorites. Coupled with the historic use of aromatherapy in Great Britain, this spa, set beneath a glass atrium within this Leading Hotel, supports the brand's philosophy of honoring the healing traditions of the region. Can you imagine the kind of restorative hen party you could have here?

Hotel Gotham

Manchester, England, UK

Batman’s Gotham this is not. But it is bespoke hotel magic in Manchester – taking art deco to new, decadent heights. Think dark wood, fur, leather and plush and colorful pops of velvet. As a bonus you can also expect homemade biscuits, good tea and big mugs to ensure the decadence is tempered by thoughtful touches. We’re calling stay-cation or weekend away.

This famously private members-only club also includes a luxury boutique hotel, situated directly above it. As of November 2015 it recently refurbished it’s rooms and suites, ensuring the hotel, which has hosted guests the likes of HRH Prince Phillip remains rooted in history but reflective of the times. Bonus: a stay at the hotel ensures you access to all of the club’s amenities including it’s rather gorgeous special event space!
