Australian meets South American coffee-house and kitchen in the heart of Covent Garden.
The name 'Abuelo' meaning 'grandfather' in Spanish relates to the theme of 'family and home', in the same vein the main room is an interpretation of a home dining room - with the handwoven Argentinian rug running under the large dining table surrounded by antique spindle chairs and bookended by the timber fireplace.

Venue Features
The Scene:

Australian meets South American coffee-house and kitchen in the heart of Covent Garden and the theatre district, serving specialty coffees and teas, and an all-day menu of organic, farm to table, homely meals in an architect designed space. We are located in a building that was first erected in 1702 and is a Grade 2 listed Heritage site - the ground floor front facade is covered entirely by large windows and we also feature an arch with lightbox inside the space which is just some of our unique heritage pieces. The site is located only steps from the historic Covent Garden Piazza, which is a world-class tourist attraction and truly beautiful. We are also less than 5 minutes away from all of the best shows in London's West End, the clubbing district of Soho, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and more. In addition, walk another couple minutes and you reach St. James Park and Buckingham Palace. Abuelo has come to be known as the perfect pit stop in a day spent exploring the area.

Design:

Owned and operated by architects and designers, Abuelo is known widely for its design excellence. Amidst the bustle of the city it is a haven of calm with its warm earthy colours and materials - when you walk in the room you will see sculptural handmade timber pieces (made from Australian Gum), antique terracotta ash tile floors, huge dramatic landscape paintings covering the walls and an abundance of floral arrangements and greenery.

When you come to Abuelo you are sitting at our kitchen table and we hope that you feel as at home at ours as you would at your own.

Standout Venue Features:
At Abuelo, we combine South American beans with Australian coffee technique to provide a truly special Aussie coffee experience in the heart of London. We use top of the line equipment including a Slayer Steam X with which we believe we produce the top coffee in London. All of our coffees are bought directly from small farmers and help to support local areas. Using an extraction rate of 35 seconds and a truely sensitive and demanding machine we work tirelessly to produce a perfect cup of coffee.
