The Lowdown

Venue Setting

No venue is more dramatic than the Granaries of the Republic, Cipriani's spectacular space on the Giudecca Island. The Granaries were used to store spices and salt going right back to the days of medieval merchant, Marco Polo, who sourced them on his explorations. The stores have been immaculately restored to their former glory to offer two interconnecting wings, the Longhi and the Tiziano, providing splendid, flexible spaces. Both have direct access onto the Fondamenta Terrace, which, with its views of Venice, is an enchanting venue for cocktails. Sofas and plants can be set out to create a relaxing alfesco lounge area for guests.
In the most imposing of the two granaries - the Longhi Ballroom - spectacular chandeliers light up the hammer-beam roof; towering candelabras line the linen-clad tables. If so desired, acrobats, dancers or actors will perform in the enchanting space to create a captivating spectacle.

The Cip’s Club is wonderfully glamorous yet informal and has earned an international reputation and boasts unparalleled views of St Mark’s Square. The dining room is graced with beautiful original artworks. Outside, traditional Venetian cuisine and delicious Italian specialities are served on a spacious decked terrace over the water.

Indulge in delicious light cuisine from the Porticciolo Pool Restaurant. Relax in the shade, or gaze at the lagoon as you enjoy regional specialities and refreshing drinks.
