Bendooley Estate, near the village of Berrima in the NSW Southern Highlands, is a place with genuine country warmth and intimate elegance where you can truly celebrate your wedding day. Our 200-acre property, with expansive gardens and a picturesque lake setting, provides so many beautiful spaces for celebration and photography.

The Book Barn

The Book Barn is quintessentially Southern Highlands -  rustic yet elegant, astonishing yet intimate. Housing our restaurant and bar, its high ceilings with exposed timber beams and iron pendant lights, walls of leather bound antiquarian books, and the grand stone fireplace bring a special warmth to this truly unique location.  For weddings, the bookshelves roll away to create an incredible space.
With a beautiful garden courtyard for drinks, the venue also features designer furniture, state of the art sound system, multiple fireplaces and your very own cocktail bar. Brides have the luxury of a private bridal suite, complete with views of the adjoining vineyard. Lakeside Marquee

For those who prefer a marquee wedding, the location, next to our beautiful lakeside pavilion and jetty, is completely idyllic. It is surrounded by manicured rose gardens, ancient trees and rolling hills. Marquees can be hired by offsite providers.

Perhaps your dream wedding is to dine amongst the vines or to indulge in champagne and canapés by the rose garden overlooking the lake. The Book Barn Cottage is located on Bendooley Estate near the quaint village of Berrima, between Sydney and Canberra. 
 
Formerly Bendooley Estate’s gatekeeper’s residence, the Book Barn Cottage is a beautifully appointed, fully self-contained house. Refurbished in contemporary style, this two-bedroom weatherboard bungalow exudes warmth, ambience and country elegance. The cottage comfortably sleeps five people.
 
Perfect for a romantic escape to the country or for a weekend friends, the cottage is also family-friendly and filled with a vast collection of books.    

Set amidst the green rolling hills of the Southern Highlands, opposite the Bendooley Estate vineyard, it is just a short stroll up the lane to the Book Barn where you can enjoy coffee or lunch in our elegant restaurant or a glass of wine in our exquisite new Cellar Door.   

There is plenty to do in the area, both on and off the property – explore the local villages, walks or golf courses. Visit historic Berrima or take a short drive to the lovely town of Bowral. Private, beautiful, comfortable and welcoming - escape to the Southern Highlands and feel a million miles away.
