Venue Features
The Scene:
In the heart of San Diego's East Village, Fairweather is the go-to neighborhood hangout dedicated to “drinks from sunny places”. Mezcal, rum and tequila reign supreme at the open-air cocktail bar, which boasts a 32-count lineup of suitably fruity, tropical beverages. Daiquiris, a Mai Tai, Piña Colada, Zombie, Painkiller, and Ti’ Punch are among 16 familiar “Classic” throwbacks recreated by co-owner Anthony Schmidt. While 16 “Fairweather Signatures” — the Oaxacan Dead (Schmidt’s take on the Zombie with Mezcal and rum), the Monkey’s Junk (coconut, bananas and cacao rum), Rum Row (an aged Old Fashioned with coconut bitters and banana liqueur), and the lighthearted Piece of Advice — offer unique riffs on the classics.
Design:
Fairweather plays off its rooftop location with a vibrant, beach vibe decor featuring tropical design details that include a 'living-wall' of lush vegetation, blue and white Granada tiles (which run the length of the bar), alongside plenty of white marble. Antique platters piled high with fresh citrus fruit adds a splash of vibrant yellow to the mix.
Standout Venue Features:
Fairweather pays homage to San Diego's beautiful weather and 'fair weather' fans at the 1,500 square-foot rooftop patio oasis overlooking the famed Padres’ Petco Park stadium, where Anthony Schmidt's capable hands curate a 32-count cocktail lineup which sees mezcal, rum and tequila reign supreme.
Awards & Notables Anthony Schmidt is one of the most recognized names in San Diego’s cocktail scene, and his programs have earned him a place on some of the nation’s most coveted lists including Esquire's “Best Bars in America” - Noble Experiment, 2013 and a nomination at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, in New Orleans for Noble Experiment, 2014.
