Venue Setting

Narborough Hall is an ancient building sitting within its own historic parkland. In spring follow the snowdrop walks beyond the lake and deep into the woods where the ground is carpeted with delicate flowers. Feast on ingredients foraged in the park and along the riverbank before sitting around the bonfire and talking long into the night. As the cool night air creeps in head back to the house and settle into one of the five comfortable, flower-filled bedrooms or two rustic, scandi style cottages.

The summer brings abundance to Narborough with the borders overflowing with gentle English colour, the lake full of waterlilies and rambling roses cascading down every facade of the beautiful old Hall. Beds in the walled garden overflow with fragrant herbs, glossy-leafed vegetables and soft fruits waiting to be tossed into fresh summer salads, grilled over open flames or folded into unctuous desserts.

Winter envelopes the house with an atmosphere of serenity and quiet beauty. Open fires crackle in every room and on a still day the scent of wood smoke lingers throughout the gardens. When the lake freezes the reflections of the parkland beech and oak trees fall like delicate woodcuts onto the ice. Early sunsets bathe the grounds in warm light, creating painterly floods of colour across the winter skies.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Narborough Hall is set in the valley of the River Nar in Norfolk, surrounded by ancient parkland, lakes and woodland. The garden designed by Joanne Merrison has been described by Country Living, The English Garden and Country Life as one of England’s most truly ‘Romantic’ gardens. Planting in the borders and parkland walks is wild, subtle and exuberant. Drifts of native self-seeding plants grow with herbs, fruit, edible flowers and a tangle of sleeping beauty blackberries and rambling roses. In winter the space is equally beautiful; with frosted webs draped between seed-heads in the gardens and mist hovering over the river and lake.
Design:
Narborough Hall is a historic building dating back to the Tudor period. The interiors combine original 18th century fireplaces, moulded ceilings and decorative features with contemporary fabrics, modern art and retro furniture. New pieces are constantly being added and we always aim to be ahead of trends for interior and event styling.
Standout Venue Features:
The Rooms at Narborough Hall are large and comfortable. The beds have goose down pillows and Beautiful Linen from Lexington and Cologne and Cotton and the bathrooms have gorgeous Jo Malone products. All guest rooms have fresh flowers, tea and coffee facilities and free Wi Fi. Staying at Narborough Hall gives you and your guests private access to the gardens and grounds which include a tennis court, seasonal swimming pool and an immaculate cricket pitch. The beautiful reception rooms at Narborough Hall are full of scented flowers, modern art and collected objects and provide tranquil and luxurious spaces in which to have afternoon tea, breakfasts and your rehearsal dinner. You will have housekeeping, waiting staff, and chefs ready to look after your every need and we run a fully stocked bar throughout your stay.
