Presenting a presidential pedigree is the simply the opening line to this romantic tale crafted in brick and stone by "Father of American Democracy" and dedicated to his radiant wife Rachel. Besides the gorgeous Greek Revival Mansion, regarded by many as one of the most beautiful in the country, veritable venues the Hermitage Church, garden & grounds were all built as gifts for Rachel.

Venue Setting

Since the early 19th century, The Hermitage has been renowned for offering its guests a warm and gracious welcome. President Andrew Jackson loved his farm and took pride in sharing it with the many dignitaries and guests that visited over the years. Jackson also enjoyed a good wedding and he went all out for them. His hospitality was legendary and it continues today.

The Cabin by the Spring is our premier venue. Fully renovated in 2011, it features modern amenities such as private restrooms, a catering kitchen, and updated lighting. Tulip Grove Mansion was built in 1840 and features an expansive back lawn for tented events or intimate dinners in the house.

Cabin-by-the-Spring was built to cater to the history buff, the sophisticated party-goer and everyone in between. It truly is one of the most unique event venues in Middle Tennessee. The “Cabin” marries rustic ambiance with an elegant twist. Cabin-by-the-Spring is newly renovated with modern restrooms, a state-of-the-art catering kitchen, heating and cooling systems and atmosphere lighting.

Tulip Grove Mansion:
Noted as one of Tennessee’s most elegant Greek Revival style mansions, Tulip Grove affords an exquisite setting for any event; from casual to formal. Tulip Grove Mansion and the surrounding grounds can accommodate any size group. Constructed in 1836 as the home for Andrew Jackson Donelson (Rachel Jackson’s nephew and President Jackson’s private secretary) and his wife Emily, the mansion features exquisite architecture both inside and out.

The Hermitage Church:
The Hermitage Church was constructed in 1823 by Andrew Jackson as a gift to his wife, Rachel, and the surrounding community. For generations, The Hermitage Church has been a highly sought venue for couples who seek an intimate and historic site to share their vows with family and friends. The simple brick structure affords a perfect backdrop for wedding parties and decorations to shine. The Hermitage Garden:
Rachel, Andrew Jackson’s beloved wife, took special interest in the gardens of The Hermitage and in respect to her, our grounds crew keeps the Hermitage Garden beautifully groomed year round. Guests will be enchanted by flowing Weeping Willows, magnificent Magnolia trees and a wide variety of beautiful blooming flowers in each quadrant of this historic garden. With three plots available for events, guests are encouraged to construct tents on this extra special venue.

The Grounds:
Beyond the garden, the grounds afford a number of exquisite sites for tented or open-air events with the Hermitage mansion, historic log buildings, gardens, fences and ancient trees as the backdrop. Our knowledgeable staff is always ready and willing to direct you to the most popular sites to hold events. Once on site, visitors are also encouraged to roam freely as they look for the perfect place to host their dinner party, ceremony or reception.
