yök Casa + Cultura is not a hotel, but it is not your typical apartment rental either. Run by eco­designer Petz Scholtus, originally from Luxembourg and living in Barcelona since 2004, and hotel­ management expert Mari Rodríguez, born and bred in the Catalan capital, yök proves that the devil is in the details and that better tourism is possible.

All 3 Casas, dating back to 1900, as well as the office, a rooftop extension from the 70ies, were renovated following eco­design principles and respecting the Catalan Modernism features like the high decorative ceilings, gorgeous mosaic tiles, beautiful etched glass and amazing wooden sliding balcony doors. A great effort was put into re­using materials and adding VOC­free, recyclable ones to the mix. Local products and materials were used whenever possible. Smart water and energy saving devices will help save resources without sacrificing the guests’ experience.

Casa A and Casa B sleep 4 people each. Casa C has 4 double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms! In total, the apartments sleep 18 people.

The Scene:
Our property is located in the center of Barcelona. We manage the 3rd floor of a Catalan modernist building and the top floor. You can enjoy 100-year-old mosaic tiles, high white decorative ceilings, sliding wooden balcony doors and painted glass windows. 
Design:
The building and features are from 1900. The furniture is a mix of contemporary local design pieces and vintage. 
Standout Venue Features:
All rooms have luxury mattresses, made from 100% natural materials. All the objects in the rooms are by local designers and for sale. We love our details; anything from vintage porcelain and wood light-switches to house plants, a first aid kit and art by local artists on the walls.
Extra Perks:
Complimentary filtered tap water, olive oil, pepper, salt and sugar, tea, organic soap made in Valencia, fresh bedsheets and towels, high speed wifi, hairdryers with diffusers, fully equipped kitchens, check-in directly at the apartments.

Casa A:
Casa A has 2 double bedrooms with luxury, 100% natural bed and balconies, a fully equipped open kitchen in the living room with more balconies, and a bathroom with a shower. Total sleeping capacity: 4 people This 60m2 apartment was renovated in 2014, following eco-design principles and respecting the Catalan modernism features like the high decorative ceilings, a gorgeous mosaic floor, beautiful etched glass and amazing wooden sliding balcony doors.

Casa B:
Casa B has a double bedroom with balcony and a smaller double bedroom, each with a luxury, 100% natural bed. A fully equipped open kitchen in the living room with balcony, and a bathroom with a shower. Upon request, the large bedroom can have twin beds instead of a king size bed. Total sleeping capacity: 4 people This 52m2 apartment was renovated in 2014, following eco-design principles and respecting the Catalan modernism features like the high decorative ceilings, a gorgeous mosaic floor.

Casa C:
This can be your own little hotel! Casa C is perfect for a group of friends, family or even work colleagues. It has 4 double bedrooms, each with a luxury, 100% natural bed and an en-suite bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table and a living room with a gallery (the typical balcony closed of with glass windows). One of the bedrooms has a balcony, another one has an original 1900 wall fresco. Upon request, one of the bedrooms has the option of a king size bed, instead of twin beds.

Office -rooftop:
During your stay with us, here is the meeting point, a place where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Barcelona, to know the local culture, to catch up, borrow a book from the library, refill your water bottles.. and enjoy some welcome surprises!
