Meals are home-cooked and the menu changes seasonally. For the summer, dishes will mainly be BBQ or cooked over an open fire, and communal tables will be situated under twinkling lights for guests to enjoy the outdoor scenery. This exceptional dining experience offers guests an increasingly unique opportunity to connect with others outside of their travel group, and even leave the table having made a few new friends.
Venue Features The Scene:
Unfolding across a hillside with sweeping views of Windham Mountain, Eastwind blends natural beauty with communal-minded gathering spaces. Guests can relax in the sauna, enjoy a nightcap at the Salon's cocktail bar, or cozy up by the fire pit while admiring the scenery. The original structure, serving as a bunkhouse for fly fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts, dates back to the 1920s, a history that is readily apparent in the renovated property. Thoughtful touches and design elements can be found throughout the property in the hand-picked antique furnishings and artwork as well as the extensive collection of vintage books and board games.
The boutique hotel's design complements the natural scenery around the hotel as well as draws inspiration from Scandinavian style minimalism. The color palette is mainly natural hues: beige, gray navy, brown and black. The walls are white, and there are pops of color in rugs, closet wallpaper (we have House of Hackney wallpaper with scenes of partying animals), Alexis Sassard custom wall-hangings (amazing yarn installations), and framed mushroom drawings.
The Bunk House and Hill House feature a Mid-Century electric look with a hint of clean urban design energized by the hotel's backcountry, while the Lushna Cabins embody a Scandinavian notion of camping without sacrificing any comforts. The decor consists of thoughtfully-sourced furniture, encapsulating the sentiment of lagom the Swedish word meaning "just the right amount." Awards & Notables
Eastwind Hotel & Bar's guest experience and design have attracted the attention of numerous credible travel, lifestyle and design publications including Travel + Leisure, Hospitality Design, AFAR, and Condé Nast Traveler, to name a few. Among their most recent accolades, the hotel was picked and featured in Hemisphere's, as one of their carefully selected 'The Hemi Hotel Top 20' hotels for 2019.
