Fall is one of the best times to gather to celebrate the change of the season. At Sugar and Charm, we want everyone to feel comfortable hosting a party and realize you don’t have to cook a feast to have a wonderful evening! For a large gathering, I love serving big cheese boards and platters. They can fill a crowd and will ensure that you don't spend too much time in the kitchen instead of mingling with guests. See my quick tips below for hosting an easy fall gathering.

First, DIY a Floor Table

0
Low tables make for a casual and relaxed dinner vibe and you can literally make one! User wood or cinder blocks as risers to elevate the table and then any type of board or piece of wood for the tabletop. Simply add throw pillows to make a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Add a few rugs for extra comfort too.

Add Fresh Flowers!

0
Fresh flowers are the easiest and prettiest way to add a special and festive feeling to party decor. Pro Tip: You don't need to be a florist with a wholesale license to get gorgeous goods, you can nab them from the grocery store, Trader Joe's or even your backyard garden.

Set the Table

0
Since the floor seating is super comfy and relaxed feeling, it's fun to add a formal feel by setting the table. I like the ritual of setting the table because there’s nothing like pretty dinnerware. Let the charcuterie and cheese be the centerpiece, then just snack, drink and cheers away! Pro Tip: Here is a handy guide to make sure you set it properly (the forks go on the left).

Create a Charcuterie Centerpiece

0
Since the charcuterie will be the main meal at your party, you’ll need at least 5 ounces of meat per person and plenty of toasted bread, cheese, dips and olives to go with it. Buy a nice mix of meats like dry-cured salami, decadent prosciutto and smoky sausage. Also, speck, coppa and sopressata are great choices too if you want to get a bit fancy on the palate. Then, add in the cheese! Add at least four varieties of hard/aged and soft cheeses to give your guests a nice selection to choose from! For more inspiration head here.

Serve Red Wine + a Delicious Fall Cocktail

Nothing says cozy fall dinner party like red wine and a delicious fall cocktail. I love this yummy Apple Pie Sangria or popular Apple Cider Moscow Mule.
