This Hotel Bar's New Cocktail Menu Will Inspire Your Holiday Festivities

The new menu is inspired by Agatha Christie’s best known crime novel “Murder on the Orient Express” and features a selection of 12 cocktails. Each drink carries the name of one of the characters from the book and the ingredients + the taste notes reflect the characteristics of these characters in the drink. About Pulitzer Amsterdam: The newly restored Pulitzer Amsterdam is a luxury hotel set within 25 interlinked 17th and 18th century canal houses, in one of Amsterdam's chicest neighborhoods. Blending traditional and modern Dutch craftsmanship and service, the hotel offers 225 guest rooms, a tranquil inner garden, meeting and event spaces, as well as an authentic restaurant and bar that showcases local tastes. Overlooking the Prisengracht and Keizersgracht canals, the hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam's historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Past menus at Pulitzer's Bar have centered around The Great Gatsby; Ernest Hemingway's most classic works; and Le Labo's trademark fragrance, Santal 33.

Shake all ingredients with ice and pour in a martini glass. Garnish with Microplane Grapefruit Zest.

• 40ml Diplomatico Mantuano*
• 30ml Passion Fruit Puree
• 15ml Red Wine Reduction
• 10ml Espresso
• 2 d. DropLets Cardamom
• 30ml Grapefruit Soda

Shake the ingredients in a shaker and strain into a chilled glass. Top off with Grapefruit Soda and garnish with Grapefruit Zest.

* Switch Diplomatico Mantuano for 40ml Seedlip Spice for a booze-less version.

• 40ml Tanqueray 10
• 20ml Blueberry & Wasabi Shrub
• 20ml Yuzushu
• Top Champagne

Shake the ingredients with ice and fine strain into a coupe or champagne glass, and top off with Champagne. Garnish with a Shiso Leaf.

• 50ml Blue Corn Don Julio Blanco
• 20ml Belsazar Rose
• 10ml Ancho Reyes Verte
• 15ml Coriander Syrup
• 20ml Lime juice
• 4d +2 d. Manganero + salt solution
• 20ml Egg White
• 50ml Soda

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and pour in a long drink glass. Garnish with toasted baby corn.

• 35ml Bulleit Rye
• 15ml Rutte Old Tom Genever
• 15ml Akashi-Tai Umeshu
• 20ml Cocchi Americano
• 1 d. Plum Bitters
• 1 d. Boston Bitters

Put all ingredients in mixing glass and stir. Pour in a martini glass. Garnish with a big caper berry.

• 50ml Milk Washed Johnnie Walker
• 15ml Amontillado Sherry
• 10ml Lagavulin
• 10ml Genmaicha Syrup
• 4d. Droplets Fresh Ginger
• 2d. Ango

Stir all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass, and strain over rocks or a big cube in a chilled tumbler. Garnish with a white flower.

• 50ml William George*
• 35ml Lychee Chevice
• 15ml Cashew Orgeat
• 10ml Chickpea
• 3d. Peychaud’s

Shake all ingredients with ice and pour in a coupe glass or Nick&Nora glass. Garnish with a Peychaud’s bitters Swirl.

* Swap William George for 25ml Seedlip Citrus and 25ml Everleaf for a booze-less version.

• 40ml Porters Tropical Old Tom*
• 30ml Clear Lemon Juice
• 15ml Grapefruit&White Tea Oleo
• 50 + 50ml Fever Tree Soda & Fever Tree Soda

Build all ingredients in a long drink glass with cubes and top off with Fever Tree Soda and Fever Tree Tonic. Garnish with Citrus Powder. Citrus powder is made by dehydrating leftover citrus zest, and pulverizing it with salt, sugar and citric acid.

* Switch Porters Tropical Old Tom for 40ml Everleaf for a booze-less version.

• 50ml Roe & Coe
• 25ml Martini Riserva Ambrato
• 20ml Cold Brew Eucalyptus
• 20ml Mango & Calamansi pure
• 3 dashes Sumac Tincture

Shake all ingredients with ice and, fine strain over ice cubes in a tiki glass. Garnish with dried mango and sumac powder.

• 30ml Hendrick’s Orbium
• 15ml Dry Vermouth
• 15ml Campari
• 10ml Muyu Chinotto
• 2d. Orange Bitters & Awamori

Put all ingredients in mixing glass and stir, strain over rocks or big cube in a chilled tumbler. Garnish with lemon zest.
