A Host of Golden Daffodils
Venue Setting
In a tranquil part of Cumbria, you'll find this completely restored, ancient country house dating back to the 1100s. This private wing of this beautiful ancestral home has huge gardens to meander through – they're a joy. Fire up the barbecue and enjoy some local Cumbrian produce, and then do a spot of stargazing while you sit around the fire pit with your loved ones. Or enjoy a glass of Champagne in the hot tub – the garden takes on a magical feel at night with all its lights.
Inside, character features abound – think old beams, exposed brick niches and stained glass windows. We love so many things about this place – the daffodil yellow hues of the cheerful hall for one and the gorgeous slipper bath for another – it's perfect for a luxurious soak after a long walk in the fells.
Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, is just over a thirty-minute drive, while Ennerdale Lake is fifteen minutes. It's just a few minutes more to the sandy St Bees Beach with its cafe and play park.
