Tasting Room + Japanese Garden:
Best For: Wedding Party Foyer
Capacity-Tasting Room: 25 \\ Capacity-Japanese Garden: 15
The Tasting Room (closed to the public on event days) is the perfect place for the wedding party arrival and pre-ceremony waiting room. The space, designed mainly for wine tasting, is an intimate but comfortable, single-story building with large, front and side windows (heavy curtains can be drawn for privacy), tall, angled ceilings, stone flooring, and a seating area; a long bar, and attached bathroom with a full-length mirror. The bride and her attendants arrive to a relaxing environment, ideal for bride + ‘maids photographs, makeup touch-ups and sparkling toasts!
The Japanese Garden is the ‘hidden gem,’ not widely known, of wine country. Its location is just off the Tasting Room, found down a winding path, through towering bamboo and lush Japanese maples. A Pagoda (covered table + bench) sits, facing a trickling stream of clear water and shallow pools. This enviable spot is ideal for the groom and his groomsmen to settle back, with beverages in-hand, awaiting the arrival of guests and the start of the ceremony.
Terrace + Mezzanine:
Best For: Ceremony or Cocktail Hour
Capacity-Ceremony: 120 \\ Capacity-Cocktail Hour: 200
The Terrace and Mezzanine, a dynamic duo of spaces, are arranged perfectly for a post-ceremony cocktail hour. Situated behind the tasting room and through a natural archway of foliage, the Terrace lawn unveils itself. An organically shaped, beautifully manicured lawn is surrounded by natural rock formations and lush foliage. A long, copper-faced, concrete bar entices from afar, inviting you further into the space that’s shaded by an expansive oak tree. Guests can enjoy a cold beverage, served from the bar, while mingling on the lawn, and nibbling on passed appetizers. Add some lawn games or a photo booth for a playful “take” on cocktail hour!
A few short steps guide guests to a shady Mezzanine off the Terrace lawn. The flagstone patio is entirely shaded by flowering dogwood trees, and a modern style pergola. Guests can sit under the pergola, at a beautiful table made of wood & welded steel (handcrafted by our owner, Ben McWilliams), or enjoy a rest in the deep backed adirondack chairs. The Mezzanine is also a great place for a few lounge pieces or an after dinner fire pit - s’mores, anyone?!
Best For: Ceremony or Dinner/Dancing
Capacity-Ceremony: 200 \\ Capacity-Dinner/Dancing: 200
Expansive, oak trees, surround the spacious, Oak Grove lawn - Arista’s largest event space. At one end of the lawn, there is an opening through the trees, with a perfectly “framed” view of the leafy vineyard rows, an utterly romantic backdrop for guests to witness your wedding vows.
The other side of the lawn is bordered by a grand arrangement of naturally occurring boulders that, in the spring, are covered in moss and nearly enveloped by ferns. Throughout the summer months, the Japanese maple trees, interspersed with the rocks and the oaks, change their leaves in a chameleon-like fashion, from green to yellow; yellow to orange; orange to red, and red to purple. As night falls, the bistro lighting, strung horizontally, from tree to tree, casts a warm glow upon the dining and dancing. The combination of this dynamic landscape and added light features make the Oak Grove an ideal setting for a dream-like wedding reception.
Best For: Ceremony or Dinner/Dancing
Capacity-Ceremony: 200 \\ Capacity-Dinner/Dancing: 160
The Pavilion is Arista’s most prized event space. Guests stroll up a private road, walled on the right side with rows of vineyards; an estate garden grows on the left. Just as guests pass the vineyard, they come upon the exquisitely designed event space - a small building enclosed by glass doors that pivot open onto a concrete patio; a custom-built wood fired pizza oven and concrete bar; a span of lawn, bordered by flowering plum trees, mulberry trees, and a beautifully landscaped perennial garden; a built-in fire pit, surrounded by adirondack chairs, overlooking a horseshoe pit and neighboring vineyard. A ceremony at the Pavilion is nothing but picturesque!
Perhaps the two most stunning features of this space are first, the century old, American oak tree that is fondly call, “Bee Tree” due to its royal hive of honeybees (the mellowest honeybees that you’ll ever encounter), and which sets the stage for the most incredible sunset due to its position on the western end of the property. Secondly, and most notably, is the view from the opposite end. The view! Words, and even pictures, cannot due justice to the spectacle: Mount Saint Helena, stately but ever so feminine, is backed by an expanse of eastern sky, bolstered by golden hills and rolling stacks of vineyards. As the sun sets behind Bee Tree, the Grand Dame herself, Mount Saint Helena, fades into shades of pink, followed by grey, then purple, and finally black; bowing to that which is even more grand - the darkness of a nighttime sky, speckled, with millions of stars. An evening reception at the Pavilion couldn’t be more enchanting.
