Located in downtown Kansas City, the Midland's main theatre provides a unique event space, blending historic elegance with modern AV and professional production capabilities. The theatre is well known for its over 500,000 feet of gold leaf, five giant hand-cut crystal chandeliers, irreplaceable art objects, and spectacular wood and plasterwork.

The Scene:
This historic Kansas City treasure is located in the heart of downtown, surrounded by the new KC Power and Light Entertainment District. A short walk from the convention center and 5 major hotels, the Midland offers guests a glimpse of the elegant and exciting 1920s, while enjoying the modern amenities of today.
Design:
Built by Marcus Loew in 1927, the theater was the third largest in the United States at that time, surpassed only by two NYC theaters. It was designed in French and Italian Baroque styles, and the theatre still boasts much of the original design including over 500,000 feet of gold leaf, five giant Czechoslovakian hand-cut crystal chandeliers, spectacular wood and plasterwork and a room made entirely of Tiffany glass tiles. The theater was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
