The first hotel to be built in Taormina, it sits in the most perfect location, directly in front of the Greek Theatre. Sweeping views of the coastline and majestic Mount Etna stretch out beyond.

The Hotel consists of 70 units, 45 rooms and 25 suites, most with terrace or balconies offering breathtaking views over the bay. The rooms’ interior design evokes the magnificence of the Sicilian tradition with a unique blend of beauty and comfort. At the top of the hill, the two bedroom Presidential Suite features two elegant bedrooms, a lounge and dining room, a large terrace with a garden house, and a stunning terrace with a private Jacuzzi. Guests can choose if staying in the Timeo Building complex or in Villa Flora, a delightful annex located just 50 metres (164 feet) from the Timeo Building and set in a charming country-house. Connecting rooms and wheelchair access rooms available on request.

Set high in the rocky hills on the east coast of the island, with Mt.Etna as a backdrop, Grand Hotel Timeo has always been one of the favourite destinations of both Hollywood’s and Europe’s most prominent stars; from Sofia Loren to Audrey Hepburn, from Marcello Mastroianni to Liz Taylor. Adjacent to the Greek Theatre, the hotel was first built in 1873 and is surrounded by a 6-acre park and magnificent gardens where the panoramic pool is located. This historical hotel is well known for its “Literary Terrace” which has always been a preferred meeting spot for illustrious guests.

POOL RESTAURANT - Beside the swimming pool, in the shade of a cool pergola, the Pool Restaurant is open daily for lunch. Enjoy light bites, brick-oven pizzas, a salad buffet and a selection of freshly-caught fish overlooking Mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea.
THE LITERARY TERRACE & BAR - Admire the stunning panorama of Mount Etna and the Bay of Taormina while sipping a cool Bellini. Inside, the Bar is a Sicilian masterpiece that evokes the magical atmosphere of a 19th-century winter garden.
