Belmond Road to Mandalay is a luxurious river cruiser which gently cruises the Ayeyarwady River between Bagan and Mandalay. Stop off at the country’s awe-inspiring wonders, including the spectacular ancient city of Bagan, the royal capital of Mandalay and the sacred Sagaing hills passing golden pagodas and colourful festivals, spectacular natural beauty and exotic wildlife. Myanmar is a country that seems untouched by time.

The ship configuration is as follows: 43 cabins composed of 1 Governor's Suite, 18 State Cabins, 16 Deluxe Cabins, 4 Superior Cabins and 4 Single Cabins. 

Belmond Road to Mandalay features two restaurants and bars, a top deck with pool, an observation lounge (with a library offering a large variety of books and games), a wellbeing area (including a fitness room and hair/beauty treatment area) and a medical room.

Nadia Narain, yoga guru to the stars, will be joining us on 24th and 27th of August, taking the guests on a yoga and meditation journey. 

Retired British Army Officer, General Sir Michael Jackson will also be travelling on board Belmond Road to Mandalay on 24th and 27th August, offering his insights into some of the most important British Military events in recent history.

Aspiring photographers can join award-winning photographer, Sue Flood, on board Belmond Road to Mandalay on 8th and 12th October. Sue will teach guests how to capture the perfect image with professional insights and personal tuition.

With cool, relaxing spaces in which to mingle, luxurious cabins and indulgent touches you're assured a great journey ahead.

Every day is filled with events, excursions, exquisite dining and entertainment. Take in topical lectures by local and international experts or join a cooking class where you'll learn a Burmese speciality you can whip up when you return home.

Or just relax, cocktail in hand, on the teak deck and watch the marvellous sights as you cruise gently along the Ayeyarwady River.

Our luxury cruise ship offers every comfort and elegance. Each cabin has been designed to combine comfort and elegance, while reflecting local styles and materials. Step inside and discover luxurious furnishings lovingly crafted by local artisans.

All cabins enjoy outward-facing windows—to make the most of the fantastic views—satellite TV, an iPod docking station, air-conditioning, generous closet space and spacious en-suite bathrooms with locally made soaps.

The Observation Deck is the perfect spot from which to watch life on the river and its shores. Here you can soak up the sun, have a drink at the bar, or take a refreshing dip in the pool.

Our wellbeing area with allow you to stay polished and perfectly coiffed with a manicure, pedicure and blow-dry service. The spa treatment menu is designed to soothe, relax and rejuvenate. State-of-the-art fitness equipment caters for those who like to stay in tip-top condition.

Enjoy an interesting programme of local entertainment, from Burmese marionettes to classical dancers, and insightful lectures on Myanmar’s fascinating culture. In addition, you can learn to tie a traditional longyi or apply thanaka, a beauty treatment used by local women to cool and tone their skin.

Situated on the Observation Deck, the alfresco Bar & Grill Restaurant offers refined local cuisine in a truly inspiring setting. Watch the experts in action at the gourmet grill station, and savour fine wines from our vintage selection. 

On Friday and Saturday evenings, guests not travelling with us can step aboard to experience Bagan’s only five-star dining venue. Limited to just 50 seats, this exclusive experience is sure to be a highlight of your trip.
Bars & Lounges:
The Piano Bar is decorated with a mixture of light wood and Burmese lacquerware. Tales can be shared over delicious local and international cocktails as the resident pianist plays into the night.
