Venue Setting

A stunning, secluded fully outdoor venue, surrounded by forest and fields. Exclusively yours for your event with no other guests on property for the whole weekend. A couple 100 gorgeous wild acres to roam and a tiny creek fed lake to kayak on and watch the sunset. Two ceremony locations to choose from, a boulder landscaped area and a tiny lake/pond overlook in the woods, multiple locations to place small to enormous party tents. Play yard games, have a couple days of fun and create memories with your guests. Dance while the moon comes up, warm yourself by a custom shaped bonfire and sneak off to your private cabin. Room for your guests to lodge in a camping setting and two additional cabins. Lodging/hotels available in Bemidji as well. Families are welcome to cater in any food they would like OR make their own food. Come have fun and be yourselves at the unforgettable outdoor Black Lantern wedding venue.

Accommodations: Secluded Refuge Cabin- 3 queen beds, 1 futon, full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, excellent natural light. A pretty patio for grilling and campfires, a huge wrap around deck and gorgeous custom interior. Situated on a forest hill overlooking pine forest and wetland.

Secluded Cabin Eleanor- typically for the wedding couple, the cabin was designed for a couple, 1 queen bed, 1 bunk, full kitchen and full bath. A private landscaped fire pit area with grill and a relaxing deck to enjoy the forest from.

Rustic Cabin- 1queen bed, a culligan machine, small oven/stove, microwave, small fridge and a cute front porch overlooking a meadow. This cabin has no indoor plumbing (except culligan machine) and uses an outhouse. There is a water spigot outside by the firepit. This cabin is by the camping sites.
Camping sites with electricity and water for your guests to group camp in, no curfew for your event in the campsites and they do not have to worry about other guests.

Venue Features

The scene:: The property is pretty, a little like a hallmark movie, the property is down a dirt road, is very well kept, decorative details in the landscape and buildings show the live for the property. Flowers peek out from ground beds, flower pots and hanging baskets to brighten up the venue and grounds. Your guests will park in a mowed field where they will be able to hear the music but not see the site yet. Approaching a little welcome shack with soft music and a greeter to answer questions and chauffeur those in need of a ride. Guests follow a winding graveled path to reveal a Boulder landscaped venue teaming with guests, a towering reception tent, grassy areas for yard games and the future food and beverages waiting to be consumed and enjoyed. The venue is knowingly a fraction of the whole property to explore and the guests know that the whole place is solely for your party. Time to unwind and enjoy each other and have fun.
Design:: Endless beautiful spots for photography, there simply is not enough time to hit every spot that is beautiful. Hundreds of feet of winding rock walls through the forests, meadows peppered with wildflowers, and mossy covered forest floors are some of the places to stop for pictures. The property is large enough to bring your unique ideas and wants to to see what we can accommodate.
Standout venue features:: Wedding parties can bring in any caterer/s or food, even homemade food, that they would like. People have done s'more bars, and late night hot dog bars cooked over a campfire. They are allowed to hire any mobile bar in the area (multiple exist) that they would like to hire or supply their own alcohol. These are important factors in designing a wedding and having it meet your wants not a set menu from a venue.
Extra perks:: The whole property is all yours for the whole weekend, your stay can easily be extended to prolong family fun to make time for family potlucks, kickball games, kayak races, ATV runs, or just extra days to be together. Sometimes a handful of guests will arrive days early or also stay passed Sunday to continue to unwind.
