Venue Setting

Chateau La Durantie, which was built 1840 for the Duke of Isly, is the ideal place for a wedding, a birthday party or a family get together. It is located in the beautiful Dordogne, Southwest France, 2 hours from Bordeaux. The Chateau and the coach house have been recently renovated to a very high standard of luxury. Offering over 1400 m2 (15000 square foot) of living area, the rooms are elegantly decorated with valuable antiques. Spacious reception rooms are spread out on the ground floor of the Chateau, and 2 master suites and an additional 14 generously sized bedrooms (all with their own marble bathroom) provide luxurious accommodation. The cottage, which sleeps additional 10 guests, is optional.

The Chateau has an enclosed park of 12 acres (5 hectares), complete with pool, tennis court, 5 aside football, and fruit orchards.

Chateau La Durantie can accommodate on the grounds up to 43 guests in 2 elegant Suites and 19 bedrooms. All bedrooms are elegantly furnished with valuable antiques, and the bath and shower rooms are renovated to the highest standard in marble or granite. The Chateau and Coach house accommodate together 33 guests, and the optional cottage another 10 guests.
 
In the Chateau on the first floor there are 2 spacious suites consisting of double bedroom, living room and bathroom (80m2 and 50m2), and 3 ensuite double bedrooms (40m2, 40m2, 25m2). They have views of the park and the rolling countryside. 
 
On the second floor of the Chateau there is a family bedroom with a double bed and a single bed (40m2), 1 bedroom with a double bed  (20m2), 1 bedroom with two single beds (20m2), and 3 marble shower rooms.
 
The Coach house has on the ground floor a handicap accessible double bedroom with a marble shower room (20 m2), and on the first there are 7 bedrooms all with ensuite marble shower room (4x 40m2, 3x 25m2). They have views of a beautiful valley and the rolling hills or the Chateau and the park.
 
The optional cottage, which sleeps 10 guests, has a big living and dining room with open plan kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 single beds (The bedrooms are connected), 2 marble shower rooms, double bedroom with ensuite marble shower room.

In the beautiful and peaceful Dordogne/Perigord, Chateau La Durantie offers 5 hectares of beautiful, private park and gardens. The pool and the tennis court keep guests busy. Wedding Ceremonies are outside in the park or in a local church, the cocktail reception can be organised outside on the Chateau terrace and/or in the reception rooms, and the wedding meal and the party are held in the beautiful Marquee in the garden.

Chateau La Durantie is located between Perigueux and Limoges, and the nearest airports are Limoges and Brive. Bergerac and Bordeaux are alternative airports.
Design:
Built for the Duke of Isly in 1830, Chateau La Durantie has a very luxurious feel with original wood floorings and fireplaces. Very high ceilings make the rooms light and offer beautiful views of the park. The Chateau is furnished with valuable antiques in a classic style, and all the bathrooms have been renovated to a very high standard.

The beauty of the French Chateau La Durantie isn't subtle, understated or any kind of low-key - it's spectacular, opulent and utterly lovely for any fairy-tale celebration - which is how we like it. Built in 1830, as a residence for the Duke of Isley - it's nestled in Dordogne in the southwest of France. The Duke was revered as a national hero for his work as a statesman as well as his military service under Napoleon Bonaparte and King Louis Phillipe - but he had some pretty fabulous taste too!
