Venue Setting

Clifton Glamping is located in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Perfect for that leave it all behind feeling, this luxury glamping site overlooks the picturesque Maraetotara river and feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern living.

Located 5 minutes from Te Awanga, and just 20 minutes from Havelock North, Hastings and Napier, our site is perfect for couples seeking that luxurious escape; with a wonderful north facing aspect that captures all day sun, and the perfect romantic setting for that sundowner as the sun settles.

Tom and Lucia Gordon have created this stunning site for your absolute enjoyment and we know you will totally relish in its setting and style.

Our site is situated on the historic Clifton Station which has been owned and farmed by the Gordon family since 1860. The Station is farmed by Father and Son, Angus and Tom Gordon. Tom is the sixth generation to live at Clifton and they run a fully working farm with approximately 5,000 sheep, 500 cattle with acres of coastal flats for cropping and 120 acres in pine trees.

The campsite consists of a beautifully decorated luxury tent, semi-outdoor kitchen and a large deck offering elevated views of the surrounding environment. A luxurious outdoor shower and bath overlooking a forest of Poplar trees, complete what is a truly unique outdoor experience.

This is glamping of the very best kind. Perfect for couples looking for a peaceful and private escape, you'll enjoy relaxing in your super king-sized bed listening to the sounds of nature... The beautiful river running by, the light breeze rustling the leaves of the trees, and the gorgeous sound of birdlife.

During the day, it's easy to jump in the car and head out to explore the region - World class wineries including multi-award winning Elephant Hill are nearby, and if you feel alike city buzz, Napier, Hastings and Havelock North with their shops and cafes are only a short drive away.

Otherwise, just take the time to "leave it all behind, and unwind". Enjoy a dip in the swimming hole, a walk or cycle on one of the many tracks in the area, and at the end of the day - stargazing to your heart's content in a hot steaming outdoor bathtub.

Every Glamping Spot That Needs to Be on Your Radar for 2019
If you’ve ever spent much time camping, you know it’s all about the gear. You have to have the right size tent that’s light and easy to pack down, a portable stovetop for cooking meals and getting that essential morning coffee ready, comfy sleeping bags and so much more. We say leave the fuss for someone else to handle and book into a place that does it all for you instead! Opt for a glamping trip and you can still enjoy all the perks of camping - like fireside chats and time spent under the stars - with none of the hassle. Best of all, this is the easiest way to bring a whole bunch of friends along for the ride. We’re excited about a lot of tented campsites this summer, from a luxurious bubble tent in the Maldives to a Bedouin safari camp in Wadi Rum. There are Airstreams throughout America that can be rented for special gatherings or just to sleep in for a night or two, as well as tiny cabins in the countryside that have all the Hygge you could possibly desire. So, grab your crew and get on out there under the stars. Reporter: Alyssa Brown
