- Touches of old Charleston can be seen throughout the recently renovated Beaux-arts style Gibbes Museum. The window and door openings from 1905, as well as the original porcelain tile floor and crown molding, welcome you into the building, and the art invites you to stay. Once you ascend the restored double staircase and enter the into Rotunda, you'll be taken aback by the beauty of theTiffany-style dome, which lights the neo-classical sculpture gallery- an exquisite place to exchange vows or celebrate with a cocktail hour.
You'll lose track of time in the main gallery while exploring the art dating back to the eighteenth century, and you'll be brought back to the present when browsing the contemporary art exhibits on the 3rd floor.
As you head back downstairs, the rose marble flooring, exposed brick walls, and glass curtain windows of the Reception and Lecture Halls lead to the museum's classical European-style garden, adorned with contemporary touches. Lined with live oaks and lush plantings, the garden has withstood countless "I Do's", as well as many lively receptions and corporate galas. - Standout Venue Features:
