Grand Adagio
Venue Setting
You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the pages of history in this Roman-style Sicilian villa. This handsome home’s honeyed walls are topped with scalloped roof tiles, while grand terraces and large earthenware urns adorn the grounds. So don your toga, slide on your sandals and make your way to the stately outdoor swimming pool, preferably with a goblet of wine in hand. Fittingly, the villa is well set for feasting with two generous kitchens, one inside and one out, as well as long tables and outdoor spaces for relaxing and dining. Nearby you’ll find the lovely town of Noto, known as the capital of Sicilian Baroque and a UNESCO world heritage site. There are echoes of this extravagant neighbour within the house too. In the generous living spaces you’ll find the odd Baroque flourish to the furniture, though much tempered by quieter more classic pieces. Bright white walls dotted with tasteful artworks offset the polished parquet flooring and rich wood panelling of the ceiling. The vaulted living room features a beautiful white piano and the whole house strikes a perfect chord of understated opulence.
