Grand Banks is a celebrated oyster bar aboard the historic wooden schooner, Sherman Zwicker.

Grand Banks hosts events for groups up to 199 for any occasion, from milestone birthdays to media events.

CAPTAIN'S TABLE Groups up to 20

The Captain's Table at Grand Banks offers private dining with unparalleled views, dedicated staff, and exclusive access. We reserve the Captain's Table for seated dinners for up to 12 people or cocktail parties up to 20 people.

THE BOW Groups up to 40
3 hours: $3,000 | Each additional hour: $750

The Bow at Grand Banks offers an exclusive gathering space replete with nautical charm, flawless sunsets, and a private bar. The Bow includes the Captain's Table above as well as an open casual seating space, and is suited for cocktail parties and informal gatherings. Space rental includes dedicated waitstaff.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

The fees above cover space rental only. Food and drinks are additional and may be served pre-ordered or à la carte from our Bow & Captain's Table Menu. On average, parties on the Bow or at the Captain’s Table spend between $45 and $95 per guest on food and drinks. We also suggest an 18% gratuity on food and beverage service.

FULL BUYOUTS Groups up to 199

Private events at Grand Banks provide exclusive access to our 142' ship, unlimited enjoyment of our award-winning food and beverage program, and incomparable 360 degree views of the Hudson River, downtown New York, and the Statue of Liberty. Grand Banks hosts a very limited number of private events per season – no more than two per month – allowing us to focus on providing phenomenal, once in a lifetime experiences.

Private events at Grand Banks require a buyout of the vessel for a half day or a full day. Half day events have an event duration of 5 hours and must either end by 3pm, or begin after 4pm. Full day events have an event duration of up to 8 hours. Private events include a cocktail reception, unlimited oysters, and passed canapé for up to 145 guests (or 199 for an additional 20% of the rates below).

Hand-built in 1942, our ship is the largest wooden vessel in New York and a museum-quality example of traditional boat building.

Grand Banks crafts nautically inspired cocktails using fresh squeezed juices, locally sourced produce, and fine spirits; and offers a smart selection of summery wines and Champagnes.
