Tucked between the Atlas Mountain foothills and the palm-filled Draa Valley, the Kasbah des Caïds is a centuries-old Moroccan fortress surrounded by oasis gardens, date palms, and ancient earthen villages. The setting feels ancient, cinematic, and deeply soulful - where the ochre walls glow at sunset and the call to prayer echoes across the valley.

Guests arrive through winding desert roads to find a hidden oasis of calm, with ancient, earth walled, open courtyards, rooftop terraces, and sweeping mountain views. By day, the light paints the earth walls in gold; by night, the sky becomes an ocean of stars.

The style is rustic and timeless, rooted in traditional Berber and Saharan architecture — handcrafted walls of earth and straw, carved wooden doors, and lantern-lit paths. The Kasbah des Caïds is one of the oldest remaining fortresses in the Draa Valley — a 17th-century landmark now being carefully revived by the OSUN Collection as a living piece of Morocco’s heritage.

Though newly opened to private events and retreats, the kasbah has already drawn the attention of design travelers, photographers, and cultural institutions for its authenticity and preservation work. Its architecture and restoration philosophy have been featured in upcoming OSUN cultural projects and local press in the Draa-Tafilalet region.

In 2025, the site was selected as the flagship Moroccan property of the OSUN Collection, marking the beginning of a broader initiative to protect and reactivate historical spaces through meaningful tourism.

At the Kasbah, food is part of the rhythm of life. Our small restaurant serves simple, beautiful meals made with ingredients from the valley — vegetables from our oasis farm, local honey, hand-pressed olive oil, and bread baked fresh each morning.

Meals are shared on the rooftop at sunset or under the palms in the garden, surrounded by lanterns and desert silence. The menu changes with the season but often includes slow-cooked tagines, roasted vegetables with local herbs, flatbreads from the fire, and sweet mint tea poured the traditional way.

It’s not fine dining, it’s soulful, generous cooking that feels like home. The kind of meal you linger over while the light fades and the stars appear.
