Inside Scoop

At Loews Ventana Canyon, you can walk out the back doors and step into the natural beauty of the Sonoran desert. Inspired by nature and the surrounding saguaro cactus, architect John Hill constructed the resort to blend into the southwestern landscape.

If you appreciate the serenity of the outdoors, you’ll love spending an afternoon exploring miles of hiking trails as far as the eye can see. Golf fan? You’ll want to play a round of golf on one of our two PGA, Tom Fazio-designed courses. Or perhaps a morning game of tennis is more your speed. Here, you can immerse yourself in the hotel’s history with a tour of the grounds. Afterwards, enjoy a swim in our two heated pools or a soak in the Jacuzzi, then recline on our luxurious pool deck and take in the spectacular scenery all around you.

Venue Features
The scene:
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is nestled on 100 acres in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. This four-diamond resort features 398 newly renovated guest rooms, including 27 suites, five restaurants and lounges, two Tom Fazio-designed golf courses, a full-service spa and tennis center and an array of recreational activities as well as highly-ranked meeting and convention services.
Design:
Architect John Hill constructed the resort to blend into the southwestern landscape. Known as the “First Environmentally Conceived Resort in North America”, per Architectural Digest, Loews Ventana Canyon immerses you in a one-of-a-kind retreat.
Extra perks:
Stunning surroundings are located just steps from the front lobby. Loews Ventana Canyon offers two Tom Fazio-designed championship 18-hole golf courses. Both courses are designed into the Santa Catalina Mountain’s natural features. Weaving through desert cacti and scenic canyons, both courses embody the character of the Sonoran Desert landscape, as well as a fascinating variety of desert fauna.

Loews Ventana Canyon partnered with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Tucson Botanical Gardens to create an on-property educational nature trail featuring a hummingbird and butterfly exhibit, tortoise exhibit, 80’ waterfall, as well as signage with detailed information about the plants and animals of the area and stories of the geology of Tucson. Hiking and exploring the desert is just one of many activities at Loews Ventana Canyon, which also features two outdoor pools, full-service spa and salon, 4 tennis courts, stargazing, and nightly entertainment in the Cascade Lounge.

Flying V Bar & Grill

Executive Chef Ken Harvey has created a delicious menu for you to savor indoors in our rustic dining room, in front of the cozy fireplace—or outdoors on our patio, surrounded by magnificent views. Indulge in our famous table-side guacamole, made to order by the guacamoliere, our very own guacamole expert who mixes the freshest ingredients just the way you like it.

When it’s time for your main course, Chef Harvey exhibits his unique Southwestern flair, grilling up steaks, fresh fish and scallops, or putting his own twist on more traditional, regional favorites like grouper tacos, buffalo sliders, and ceviche. Whatever you order, you’ll see that a deep passion for Southwestern food is the main ingredient at the Flying V Bar & Grill, at The Loews Ventana Canyon.
