Loosie's Kitchen was born out of the idea to create a space where everyone is welcome.
Loosie’s Kitchen, the adjacent sister restaurant to the popular bar Loosie Rouge, has to be a front-runner for the title of New York’s Most Instagrammable Restaurant. The open-air space has a Southern California vibe, with black, white and pastel accents on whitewashed walls, hanging plants and mismatched woven rugs.

The Scene:
Loosie’s Kitchen, the adjacent sister restaurant to the popular bar Loosie Rouge, has to be a front-runner for the title of New York’s Most Instagrammable Restaurant. The open-air space has a Southern California vibe, with black, white and pastel accents on whitewashed walls, hanging plants and mismatched woven rugs. It feels like your stylish friend’s backyard — a bathtub full of plants, communal wooden tables are amply spaced apart, and there’s a stack of paperbacks in the bathroom. As for the food, the menu has a southern slant to match the NOLA-style cocktails whipped up next door. The concept is a contemporary take on American soul food and kitchen traditions blessed with a lil’ bit of Brooklyn swagger. Conceived as an organic offshoot of Loosie Rouge (the bar) and orchestrated by Four Happy Men Hospitality– the kitchen and cafe offer a place in South Williamsburg to call home.

Bars & Lounges:
On certain weeknights, when the bartender’s friends have come by to keep him company, all of them speaking in French, Loosie Rouge can transport you: to a Parisian loft, maybe, or a basement in New Orleans. Maybe it’s the low ceilings or the fireplace stacked with wood, or the single, low coffee table next to the door, but the whole place feels like more of a living room than a traditional bar. So embrace that. Chat up your host, head bartender Ethan Sugar, who used to sling bottles at Blue Ribbon & Mace and makes some of the city’s most impressive cocktails. Do it all while forgetting you’re even in Brooklyn.
