Venue Setting

A modern low-profile facade reveals spectacular hand-carved double doors by Leroy Setziol & Monica Setziol-Phillips that give way to a serene and inviting interior. Designed by nationally renowned Portland-based architecture firm, Di Loreto Architecture, Nordia House serves as the gathering place not just for Portland’s Nordic community, but for anyone interested in Nordic culture, art, design, history, food and more.

The Great Hall is an open space with contemporary wood details throughout. Natural light fills the room from floor to ceiling windows, which offer views of lush protected wetlands and access to a private patio. Pathways lead to a Woodland Meadow behind the adjacent historic Steiner cabin, named Fogelbo — a perfect spot for outdoor events and secluded ceremonies.

The MLC Conference Room is available for small groups, meetings, workshops and other private events. The room features an AV system and versatile seating arrangements, which includes patio access.

Venue Features
The scene:
Nordic minimalism blends effortlessly with Old World charm to make for a lush and unexpected wooded retreat in the heart of Southwest Portland.
Design:
Designed by nationally renowned Portland-based architecture firm, Di Loreto Architecture, Nordia House serves as the gathering place not just for Portland’s Nordic community, but for anyone interested in Nordic culture, art, design, history, food and more!
Standout venue features:
The gorgeous architecture and thoughtful Nordic touches at Nordia House truly set it apart. You'll also find natural areas of different kinds, such as wetlands and white oak savannas, all around our 4-acre grounds. Our exclusive relationship with our on-site caterer, Broder Söder, means that you'll get to enjoy fine, fresh, intentionally crafted dishes that often aren't available on their daily cafe menu.
Finally, our most unique feature is our troll, Ole Bolle! Ole was designed and created by Danish recyle artist and activist Thomas Dambo. He receives thousands of visitors annually, and is sure to be a memorable feature at any event.
Extra perks:
Rentals include use of in-house tables and chairs, AV access, use of stemless Nordia House logo wineglasses, a Nordic Northwest contact on-site during your event, and much more. Please reach out for additional information and to reveal a detailed packet about the space and its amenities.
