Despite the location in a rural market town, the interior of this barn-style self-contained annex is really rather modern. Underneath the wooden beams on the high vaulted ceiling, there's a prevalence of wood in the floor and furnishings that lends a Scandi feel, while the newly fitted kitchenette comes in a sleek neutral colour with plenty of pots, pans and dishes to prepare meals. Out through the glass doors, there's a private outside space that will come into its own during bursts of unseasonable weather. If the forecast is kind during your visit, there's plenty to see and do both in Shropshire and just across the Welsh border. Chirk Castle takes just under twenty minutes to reach in the car, as does the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The surrounding town of Oswestry also has lots of independent shops and cosy pubs with which to get acquainted.
