Sundried Tomato American Bistros & Catering  is excited to announce the Grand Opening of our new event venue in the heart of downtown San Juan Capistrano. This picturesque location provides many configurations and options to choose from. Enter through the traditionally-designed, wrought iron gates into a refreshing, open-air courtyard with serene waterfall and twinkling market lights. Located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, Plaza de Magdalena is just steps from the Amtrak station and close to the 5 Freeway.

The Scene:

Located 1/2 block from the Mission of San Juan Capistrano and next to the historic Los Rios District, the exciting new Plaza de Magdalena venue offers traditional ambience with modern accents and amenities. Near the entrance is the Valenzuela Adobe dating back to the late 1700's.  This landmark is home to Sundried Tomato Bistros & Catering, providing the great food and catering services we're known for.   

Design:

When entering the venue through either of the two expansive staircases that lead to the beautiful, serene Courtyard, guests are swept away by the twinkling overhead market lights and relaxing water feature. Stepping into the spacious Magdalena Room, guests never fail to be impressed by the sweeping curved wall of floor to ceiling travertine tiles. The venue's tastefully neutral color palette allows guests to customize their event with unique lighting options, floral designs, linen choices and so much more. Discretely tucked into the Magdalena Room is the attractive VIP Suite, with its own entrance and private restroom. Across the Courtyard is the more intimate Teofilo Room, equipped with comfortable leather couches, foosball table, and TV's.

If you can dream it we can create it! Our chef is a master at recreating favorite family recipes and decadent new dishes. Our highly professional servers are... at your service! Guests are always in awe of the exceptional attention to detail our catering team provides.
Extra Perks:

When considering Plaza de Magdalena for their next event, guests are provided a complimentary tasting for two at our adjacent Sundried Tomato Bistro where a customized menu is created just for them! Our venue fees include choice of Magdalena Room, Courtyard, and Teofilo Room for five hours, plus 60" round tables, chiavari chairs, ivory linens, and tableware.

Upstairs from the Plaza de Magdalena is Sundried Tomato American Bistros & Catering, our popular restaurant featuring New American Cuisine in a casual, comfortable setting. Besides serving a broad menu of tasteful dishes, our most popular offering is the Comfort Combo with our "not-your-mother's" Grilled Cheese Sandwich and our signature Creamy Sundried Tomato Soup. Comfort food with a new twist!

Bars & Lounges:

Our friendly mixologists love our patrons! The Sundried Tomato Bar is a perfect place to try the "Pinocrano" cocktail, a pineapple-infused vodka with cranberry juice that's sure to more than quench one's thirst.  Many patrons enjoy the Drink Special of the Month or order from our extensive Beer and Wine List.  Happy Hour–with always awesome appetizers–is served every day throughout the restaurant and in our relaxing patios.
