Venue Setting

Built in 1888, The Ampersand Hotel is one of London’s original Victorian boutique hotels. Located on Harrington Road, this new 111 bedroom destination is just seconds away from South Kensington tube station. The Ampersand Hotel is a new London experience with individually styled bedrooms and balconied suites, splashes of contemporary art and a ground floor patisserie serving artisanal coffee and Champagne. An atmospheric vaulted destination cocktail and dining experience on the lower ground floor is expected to become one of The Ampersand Hotel’s focal attractions. Set in the heart of South Kensington, The Ampersand Hotel is on the doorstep of Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, and only a 35-minute tube ride away from the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. Classic English heritage meets a contemporary interior with restored original Victorian features visible in all areas from the impressive high ceilings to the hauntingly beautiful gargoyles. The Ampersand Hotel’s unique concept is inspired by both the capital’s world-famous cultural district and the iconic ampersand symbol, to illustrate the hotel’s role in connecting its guests to the best of South Kensington.

Eats & Drinks
Food, Restaurants, Cafes, Bars & Lounges
Food, Restaurants, Cafes:
Apero - Softly lit, with cool white metro tiles and exposed brick walls, Apero is an intimate, laidback restaurant in Kensington where you can catch up over a shared plate of something deliciously simple and modern. Menus inspired by the Mediterranean's best ingredients and the region's most enduring flavours are popular with both locals and hotel guests, who gather here from breakfast to late evening. The buzzy bar at Apero, tended by staff with a real passion for what they serve, is an understated but glamorous place to get into the ‘aperitivo' spirit with a signature cocktail or glass of wine before dinner. Apero is the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence 2014 Winner. The Drawing Rooms - Part English drawing room, part 'salon de thé', with deep sofas and studded armchairs in scarlet velvets and kingfisher blues, The Drawing Rooms is the place to enjoy pretty pastries, exceptional teas, freshly-pressed coffees and Afternoon Tea. All-day light bites also make us popular with residents of South Kensington, as well as those who want to get together for a business meeting in a quiet corner of a discreet address. The feel is intimate yet buzzy, with sunshine pouring in through the large Victorian windows.
Bars & Lounges:
There is a bar in the Apero Restaurant and Drawing Rooms
