The Alfred I. Dupont Building is Miami’s only Art Deco skyscraper and a representation of Depression Moderne architecture. Built in 1939, the restored mezzanine level began serving as an elegant special event space in 2001.
A former bank headquarters, the 22,000-square-foot space with two distinct ballrooms boasts wall-to-wall marble flooring, hand-painted cypress wood ceilings, original brass scrollwork on gates, and original teller windows and bank vaults.

The scene:

Opened on Christmas Day, 1939, THE ALFRED I. DUPONT BUILDING was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, designated an Historic Landmark in 1992 and became a Dade Heritage Trust Inductee in 1999.

Dubbed the "USS Neversink" during World War II, when it served as Fleet Headquarters for the 7th Naval Command, the iconic tower was the first skyscraper constructed in Miami after the completion of the Dade County Courthouse in 1928, signaling the city's economic recovery from the Great Depression. The immaculately detailed interior decoration of the Depression Moderne-style building features hand-wrought iron, bas-relief elevator doors and hand-painted ceilings featuring the history of South Florida, Seminole Indian motifs and local flora and fauna.

Comprising the entire 22,000 square foot Mezzanine Level of the Building. The former Florida National Bank's details include bas relief elevator doors, wall-to-wall marble floors, hand painted Cypress wood ceilings, detailed scroll work and intricately detailed brass gates and grates have earned it a spot on numerous "Miami's Best" lists.

The Venue is divided into two distinct ballrooms as well as two service corridors accessing both sides of the Venue. In addition to its' use as a venue, the Mezzanine Level has also been utilized as a location for countless movies, television shows, commercials and print advertisements

Design:
As you enter the North Ballroom from the brass-lined historical escalator, grand details such as the wall-to-wall Tennessee Marble floors and balustrades, brass scrollwork gates and grates, marble and limestone clad columns and hand painted wood ceilings welcome you. The east wall is lined with five of the original bank teller-windows which are usually utilized as a bar.
Along the west side of the Ballroom is the cash-vault and, right beside it, the immense and recognizable round-door Safe Deposit Vault. Originally lined with hundreds of safe-deposit-boxes, the Vault now serves as 1,500 square-feet of usable event space.

The South Ballroom serves as a blank canvass for any multitude of events. Boasting almost 6,500 square feet of wide-open usable venue space and 30 foot-tall ceilings, the Venue's South Ballroom has been host to product launches, fashion shows, theatrical and musical performances, film screenings, distinguished lectures, classroom set-ups and Miami's most elegant and exclusive private parties and wedding receptions.
