Venue Setting

The Lark is Santa Barbara’s premier dining destination featuring locally sourced seasonal ingredients that celebrate the abundant bounty available on the Central Coast. The Lark is located two blocks from the beach in the heart of the Funk Zone art district, home to numerous galleries, surf shops and the ever-popular Urban Wine Trail. The Lark’s urban industrial style integrates vintage and repurposed materials in to a sophisticated yet casual environment making it the perfect place for an intimate dinner party or a festive cocktail reception.

Our menus are served family-style creating a convivial ambiance perfect for bringing your group closer together. Handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list, highlighting Santa Barbara County vintners and artisan winemakers from afar, compliment Chef Jason Paluska’s creations.

Venue Features
The Scene:
The Lark, named for the sleek overnight Pullman train of the Southern Pacific Railroad that serviced Santa Barbara from 1910 -1968, is a 130 seat full-service restaurant located in the historic Santa Barbara Fish Market building. Situated in the heart of the Funk Zone, a vibrant arts district and home to local surf shops, galleries and the popular Urban Wine Trail, The Lark brings the entire Santa Barbara community together to celebrate our unique place.
Design:
Our vision was to create an environment that captivates a wide audience and brings them together in an exceptional space. Doug Washington, owner of the acclaimed Town Hall and Salt House restaurants in San Francisco, was able to do just that by designing the interior and exterior space with an urban style that integrates vintage and repurposed materials for a sophisticated yet casual sensibility. Original lighting, handmade furniture and a 24-seat live-edge communal table stacked on vintage radiators create a space that is warm yet exciting.
Standout Venue Features:
The Lark's Pullman Private Dining Room has an open kitchen that allows for chef instruction, guest participation or just a view of culinary arts in action.

The Lark's beautiful patio is heated and includes warm firepits for outdoor seating in any season or inclimate weather. The patio is a spectacular outdoor event venue for intimate parties.
Extra Perks:
The Lark can provide linen, silverware, glassware and plateware for some events so please inquire.
