Venue Setting

The Palmwood guesthouse is a secluded and private 5 acre estate. This hilltop retreat, inspired by the mountain Ryokans (country inns) of Japan, is tucked amongst the rolling green hills of Moloa'a - a lesser known enclave on Kauai's North Shore. The beautiful setting is ideal for those seeking a destination spot away from the crowds. Yet the location is central, providing a great jumping off point for those wanting to explore all sides of the island: from the picturesque Na Pali Coast, the small local towns dotting the Eastern Shore, the South Shore with it's fancy restaurants and golf courses, to the Naturalist's dream - Waimea Canyon and Koke'e on the West Side.

With a passion for design and an obsession to detail, The Palmwood provides a sanctuary for the body as well as the mind. Spaces are well thought out and elegantly appointed with furniture from Fiji's renowned Pacific Green and various local artisans. The Palmwood is redefining what it means to be a bed & breakfast, offering rustic charm and a simpler way of life without forgoing the small luxuries that make it all worth it.

Design:
A large collection of our furniture has been provided by Australian designer Pacific Green. Other notable pieces are made of exotic hardwoods, leather, natural stone and wrought iron. Guests will find Japanese, Baliense, Hawaiian and Latin America influences throughout. Each item has been hand selected during the founder's years of travel.
Standout Venue Features:
Privacy and exclusivity. The Palmwood provides just the right amount of services for each of its guests. Otherwise guests are left completely alone to do as they please.

The breakfast. Our menu and dishes are in constant evolution - always striving for perfection. First, we only buy the best of what local farmers and the markets have in season. By ensuring we are buying quality, we are able to execute dishes that are both healthy and thoughtful: homemade breads, yogurts, juices, roasted vegetable frittas, and "Aunty Eddi's" Macadamia Banana Croissant Tarte Tatin.
Awards & Notables Tiny Atlas Quarterly. AFAR. Sunset Magazine. Nomadic Habit. Salt & Wind. In Bed With. Free People. Cult Collective.
