Venue Setting

The Woodlands House sits on five acres of old growth trees and beautiful natural foliage. A small creek divides the property and provides some calming ambient noise. The charming 4 bedroom home features tall vaulted ceilings and 3 fireplaces. Two outdoor decks overlook the creek and give the feeling of truly being in the trees. The property has a number of clearings that allow for events to take place in the forest. Situated 45 minutes from PDX, and 25 minutes to the Hood Mountain Ski Resorts, and 10 minutes to amenities in Sandy Oregon. If you happen to wake early, most mornings you can spot deer coming down to the stream to drink. It's pretty magical, and one of our favorite things to do in the home.

The scene:
The Woodlands House sits on a five-acre parcel with old growth pines and ferns. The driveway meanders through the trees until it comes to the home where a small clearly gives light to the 4 bedroom home, shop and driveway. The home sits overlooking a small creek, that flows year round and offers the perfect amount of soothing noise. The property also features a network of small trails connecting small clearings and sitting benches that encourages contemplation and relaxation. The home is perfect for getaways, small celebrations/weddings, or as a base camp for winter and summer sports. Its a 25 min drive from Mount Hood Ski resorts and only 45 min from PDX.
Design:
The home features tall vaulted ceilings and wood-burning fireplaces on every level. We have furnished the home to feel like a mix of Scandinavian and Mid-Century design, while at the same time having some fun and rustic cabin vibes. Light colored floors and warm earth tones keep the interior calming and relaxing. The large deck off the main level overlooks the stream and is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee. The deck also features a large 6 person hot tub, that is perfect to soak your bones after a day of skiing or hiking.
